Three Misc Themes

I wanted to make a final card for the If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Superheroes Challenge and this sweet freebie image from Dearie Dolls was just asking to help me. [You can find Super Girly HERE.]  I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. When finished, I cut a strip of sheer white ribbon and stitched along one edge to make a simple tutu. I then cut a slit along the bottom of her shirt, slid the tutu beneath it and taped it down on the back of the card. The sentiment is a from a digi set named "Just a Thought" from We are Three. You can find it HERE. The sentiment on the inside was created by the daughter of a friend. So… this card will be sent to that friend. I know that she'll love it. [And I'll put my greeting on a post-it note on the inside so she can remove it and sent the card on to her daughter. So fun.]  Am entering this into several challenges including Bugaboo's "Fairy Tale/Fantasy" [I think that superheroes fall into the fantasy realm] and  Power Poppy's current  Creative Confetti [my card reflects the colors of several flags- they are popular colors, but for this challenge I am choosing to honor Australia's flag. We have relatives that live there, have always wanted to visit, and a few of the amazing people I've met in blogland live there. So…in spite of the photos I've seen of their spiders and snakes,  I have even more reasons to want to visit.]

Need to make a card for an upcoming wedding and wanted something a little unusual… for an unusual couple. One of the many reasons that I love to make cards is that I am not bound by what is on the card racks at the store. I know that my niece and her soon to be hubby will love this colorful bit of fun… and probably the check that will go with it! For the base, I used a card from a package of notecards I picked up on sale at Walgreens a few years ago. The fun "Analysis of a Kiss" saying is computer generated. [I found it somewhere a few decades ago and typed it up on my laptop. I just tried to find the source by googling the title and first line and mainly found a few hundred grammar lessons. So… if anyone knows the source, I'd appreciate it and will then add it to this posting. Thanks.] The little silver ring is from a package of a few dozen that I found in the cake decorating section at JoAnne's.

Making a few more masculine cards and was inspired by card I found on Pinterest. [You can find it HERE.] I wanted a general card that I could use for any reason, so instead of putting a gift card in the pocket I tucked a nice little computer generated sentiment in the pocket. I printed off the inside sentiment in same font. Those who follow my blog know that I usually decorate the inside to match the outside of my cards, but I discovered that I didn't have enough of the patterned paper left to layer under it. So, I just used a scrap of colored paper in one of the colors in the plaid. I was going to add a button… but my hubby grimaced when I asked if I should do that. [He is my go-to person for card reviews. Since he is usually pretty encouraging, his grimace spoke volumes. So… I nixed the button and kept the inside CAS.]

  2. Love both these creations Kathy! The "kiss" card is hysterical and the shirt creation with the little sentie peeking from the pocket is one that whoever you give it to is sure to remember!
