Once Upon A Time

My final card for the Wedding challenge at Simon Says Monday is a CAS card. [Well… at least about as CAS as I get!] The inspiration for it is the little LOVE tag, that is made of clear glass with a silver frame. I loved its elegant simplicity and wanted to make a black and white card to show it off. I found the houndstooth print scrapbook paper, cutting a small piece to fit into the little frame, making a nice base for the LOVE sentiment. The large red heart is made with a scrap of a plastic document folder that comes in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I really like using them on my cards because they're often cheaper than colored vellum and are more translucent.  You can write on them with a fine-line permanent marker and they're also easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors. The sentiments on the front and inside of the card are computer generated. The final touch was to add a few of my favorite puffy heart stickers [from a pack I found at Walmart that contains 113 assorted puffy hearts for just 99 cents!]

With Fathers Day coming up this weekend, there are several masculine challenges right now. Decided to make a card with GMC Truck digi, a freebie from the Homemade by Paula blog. [You can find it HERE.] I printed the image onto vellum then colored it with watercolor markers and a silver Sharpie on the backside of the vellum, adding a few highlights on the front of the vellum with white and silver gel pens. I cut a section from an old map to make a  background for the truck. To attach the vellum, I cut four slits in the map and slid the corners of the vellum into them, taping the corners in place on the back of the map. The sentiment is computer generated.

The new Butterfly Challenge focuses on Letter G and a Gate Fold card. I used an image from Beccy's Place named "Big Wishes" and the butterfly is from a Bugaboo set named "Floral Butterfly Thank You." My gatefold card includes all three colors [gold flowers, Granny Smith cardstock, and gunmetal checks in the gingham paper] and all three themes: gems [on the butterfly], gingham [background paper] and butterfly. The inside sentiment is computer generated.
