For my DT card this week with Imagine That Digi Stamps I used a sweet image, sentiment and little bees drawn from two digi sets named Bee Girl and Bee Boy. [You can find them HERE]. Plus, designer/owner of Imagine That, Kris Breach, provides her DTs with a coupon code that allows any friends a discount on their next digi or der. If you stop by the shop I know that you'll find lots of digis that you'll want to add to your collection.
I colored Bee Girl with Spectrum Noir and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, fussy cut her out and set her aside. I next created the background by punching hexagons with a Fiskars punch to create a honeycomb pattern. When I laid the Bee Girl image atop the honeycomb she was a little overwhelmed with the background so I added a piece of yellow vellum to separate the two. Finished the card off with the sentiment from a digi set and perched a little bee digi from one of the digi sets top the sentiment. For the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the set, another little bee, and scraps of paper and vellum.

Had fun
making this simple card scraps of yellow papers and a free sunrays template
that I found HERE. I sketched a simple sunglass frame
onto a scrap of colored cardstock, cutting the lenses out with an Exacto blade. I made the black lenses
with a scrap of black cardstock. Adhering it to the backside of the sunglass
frames and trimmed the excess with a sharp scissors. The
sentiments are computer generated using a fun font named Jokerman.

Art Wednesday Challenge- #392-#393 Anything Goes
Wanted to make a card to enter
into Power Poppy's new Challenge "Background Check." The instructions
noted- "It's as simple as making sure your background really sings and
helps give depth and dimension to your stamped image. We want to break out of
our background boxes and make sure the color we add is for a reason and has a
purpose in bringing our image to life!" I used a bold striped paper for the background in a
pretty light blue which reflects, and provides a nice base, for the stripes on
the beach bag. I created the bag with a scrap of paper, sketched the handles on
black cardstock and cut them out. Punched two circles from scraps of black paper
and folded them on the top of the bag to make bases for the handles, attaching
these to the bag with silver brads, then slid the handles in place and taped
them in place on the underside of the bag. Wanted to add a pair of sunglasses,
but the ones made for the other card on this post didn't seem like quite the
right shape. So I sketched a bit more feminine shaped frames onto a scrap of
red cardstock, cutting the lenses out with an Exacto blade. I colored the lenses
to be a translucent grey by lightly sponging black ink onto a scrap of vellum,
cutting two small rectangles that I adhered to the underside of the glasses and
then carefully trimmed the excess with a sharp scissors. Sketched a
"temple" [I had to google to find the name of this part of the
sunglasses that securely hold the glasses on the wearers head] on a scrap of
the red paper, adhering it to the inside of the sunglasses and then attaching
the sunglasses to the bag. [The other temple would be slid inside the bag,
holding the sunglasses in place. Needless to say, I didn't make that one!] The
final touch was the sentiment, which is computer generated. Am entering the
card into several other challenges that require patterns, summer or beach
themes as this card fits all of those requirements. I do want to explain why I am entering the card into the Simon
Says Monday Challenge, "Transport It." I usually think of vehicles when discussing transporting things. However, a beach bag is essential when transporting sunscreen, lip balm and other items for a day in the sun.
