Pets, Heroes and Cookies

I've had this wonderful image  named "My Fantasy Pet" from The Paper Shelter for a while and finally found some time to create a Tri-fold Shutter card with it [tutorial can be found HERE.] I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel pen. The wonderful patterned papers are from a Paper Stack from Die Cuts with a View named the "Far East Collection." The sentiment is computer generated.

I love the current challenge at "If You Give a Crafter a Cookie" that features superheroes. I checked through my digi files and found several that I can use for this theme. For this first one, I made a gate fold card using the wonderful digi named "I Need a Hero" from Little Scraps of Heaven. [You can find it HERE. And right now it is only $1] The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations. [You can find it HERE.] I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and added some sparkly stars. [You can't see the sparkle in the photos, but it does add a little bling.]

My final card for this challenge was created for the Do-Al[l] Creative challenge that features "Lift Cards." I've never seen one of these cards, even after checking Pinterest and googling it…. so am glad that the challenge site DTs provided several sample cards. [You can see them HERE.] Their cards included tags that "lift" making a sentiment visible. I decided to use a Gingerbread house instead of a tag, and have a family of gingerbread peoples living "inside." The images are all from a Beccy's Place digi set named "Gingerbread Set." I printed them on Kraft brown cardstock and colored them with white pencil, white gel pen, and a bit of Spectrum Noir markers. I layered patterned paper onto the front and attached the gingerbread house to the card front with a red brad [there is a perfect circle at the point of its roof that looks like it was made just for this purpose.] The sentiment on the flip side is a freebie from LoveSVG. [You can find it HERE.]  My final touch was to add a few puffy hearts to the card, one on the front door and a few on the sentiment.
BTW- This is not an A2 card. It is crafted on a postcard-sized piece of cardstock.  After giving the finished card to my sweet hubby, he wasn't quite sure what to do with it... so I added the little "slide" tag onto the house., which is on the backside of the card. He also found the sentiment on the back side a bit confusing. So, I just revisited the Do-Al[l] site where I found the original technique, I noticed that they were actually A2 cards. So Am planning to adhere these two pieces onto an A2 card base since flipping the card to simplify things.

  10. Love the cards Kathy, what fabulous folds!
Your gingerbread card is particularly clever. I love the way you've added the brad to the top of the house so it can swing back to reveal the gingerbread men. I also like the awesome sentiment you added to the inside. Great job!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
