myasperations 5-29-23

This is my final entry for the current Butterfly Challenge, which is a favorite of mine. This card includes all three of the required colors: Persimmon (in the butterfly wings), Pistachio (leaves), and Pale Pink (silk rose and striped on pinafore), plus two of the themes: Pillar Fold and Butterfly.)
I’m entering this card into several other challenges including Snippets (another of my favorite challenges that helps me to use up bits and pieces of treasured papers and other supplies): for this card, I used scraps from the last treasured sheets of dotted Swiss papers. I’ve always loved their rich, regal colors (navy blue and burgundy) and have saved them in my stash for many years), a tiny bit of textured baby rose patterned vellum, and scraps of ribbon and paper doily.

The sponsor for the May Outlawz Progressive Challenge is Sandra, and I loved creating a card with her beautiful Flower In a Vase Digi. I wasn’t sure what type of flower this is… so I did some web research and looks like it is a Zinnia. My inspiration photo is a Sunset Zinnia. I love their rich, bold, colors, especially when paired with several items from my stash: medallion die-cut, ribbon, paper lace, plus pretty pink striped paper.
Note- Outlawz moved to a new platform for their challenges last year. It is easier to navigate plus posting entries is so quick and easy.  The number of followers is smaller than at the old site, so if you haven’t joined yet, you might want to do so soon! Not only will it bring a smile to our friends at Outlawz, but they also offer nine different challenges, many many prizes so your chances of winning a random draw are good. You can find the site HERE. Stop on by and have fun looking around.  And if you have any questions, leave a comment on this post and I’ll see if I can help to get you started!

·   Digi- Sandras Flower in a Vase (Freebie for May 2023 Progressive Challenge)

myasperations 5-27-23

Friends of Sweet November Stamps FB page is celebrating “MerMay” with a fun coloring challenge. My goal was to spend some time every day this month, coloring and creating, and have been successful at that! Now I’m finding time to post them. This card features a favorite SNS digi that includes a free sentiment (inside of card.) The beautiful Capri takes center stage on this easel card, perched before a glittery rainbow background. I created the water by covering the colored reflection with a scrap of plain vellum, then adding ripples and waves with a white gel pen. Easy Peasy… and I like how it turned out!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (I love the whimsical magic of fairies, so would love to one day add a theme park in the Netherlands The Fairytale Forest at Efteling Park to my bucket list!), and Outlawz Monday Greeting Challenge: Celebrate-Non Holiday (the sentiments both express a sense of celebration, i.e. colorful exuberance and being amazing… I mean, mermazing!)

I recently won a challenge at Patties Creations and had fun picking a few digis as my prize. Blinky the Bee Keeper is one of them. He already buzzed his way a few weeds ago, via the UPS, to a friend who is a “SHEro” to her children… and to me!

This final card was created for the current challenge at Christmas Craft Creations. The theme is “No Stamping” and it WAS a challenge for me! I dug through my stashes (scrapbooking  and stamping) and found washi tape, Christmas stickers (floral, for the Twist) and a few journalling cards with sentiments. The washi tape gift idea is from Pinterest.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Inspiration Station’s: Photo Prompt (I was inspired by the ribbons on the May Pole and the red and white in the lovely costumes.)

myasperations 5-20-23

This month’s Sheepski Designs FB Challenge theme is “Flower Power and I loved welcoming Spring with Andrea’s beautiful Tulip Border digital image. A bit of google research provided me with the color theme for the tulips on my card. They are Pink Passion Tulips, and provide a bright shout of color! An easel card base provides a great way to display the scene (and easel cards are really easy to create. You can find a link to instructions in my supply list.)
I’m entering this card into several challenges including The Butterfly Challenge (I used all 4 of the colors, and 1 theme- Butterflies.)
Supplies:

·   Digi- Sheepski Designs (Tulip Border)

Friends of Sweet November Stamps FB page is celebrating “MerMay” with a fun coloring challenge. My goal was to spend some time every day this month, coloring and creating, and have been successful at that! I finally have some time to start posting them. So, get ready for the tsunami of sparkly beauties headed this way!
This first one features a favorite SNS digi that includes a free sentiment, which is on the front of the card. Also, the photos don’t show it very well, but this card just explodes with layers of glittery bling.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (I love the whimsical magic of fairies, so would love to one day add a theme park in the Netherlands The Fairytale Forest at Efteling Park to my bucket list!)
Supplies:

·   Digi and inside sentiment- Sweet November Stamps (Capri with reflection)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Clouds created with shades of blue decorative chalks, cloud template cut from cardboard scrap, and a makeup sponge.

·   Inside sentiment from my stash of freebies (contact me if you’d like the source)

This second card made with an SNS mermaid actually took me some time to create because I made one major blooper. The cute little crab nestled in “Skippers” long shiny locks looks more like a scary alien creature! Every attempt to “fix” it, just made it worse. I finally printed off two images of the little crab, colored and fussy-cut them. One was taped atop the scary alien crab, the other adorns the inside of the card. Yay… card saved!
(Oh… and the tropical background scene is part of a digi set from The Paper Shelter. Most of their digis include a wonderful scene or patterned paper compilation/frame that fits the digi or theme/season. I really like this colorful and festive one! To be able to enter this card into the current Paper Shelter challenge, I added embellishments to the card by layering on torn paper “sand” and touches of bling on the front sentiment.)

Supplies:

·   Digi and inside sentiment- Sweet November Stamps (Skipper)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
