myasperations 1-30-22

I love penguins and I love Scribbles Designs images, so the Scribbles Freebie that is available for the current challenge makes me smile. It featured TWO Penguins. Paired with Freebie Subway Art Background and inside sentiment from TLC Creations, I think the card turned out really “COOL” looking. Heh heh!  Note- the light stripes on the lettering happened because my printer was in a weird mood! I was going to throw it out, but kind of like how it makes te words look a bit hazy. (And, because I'm frugal!)

I wanted to make another card to enter into the Show us your Pussycats and Cupcake-Polka Dots challenge and had fun creating with this rubber stamp Kitty that I’ve had in my collection for over two decades. I don’t know the company that made it because I pulled the rubber from the wood when I got my MISTI several years ago, but I really do love the little cutie.

One of my favorite Christmas-themed challenges is named Rudolph Days. I always try to make a special card to enter and had fun using a digi set from Jan’s Digi Stamps that is creatively named “Believe.” I don’t often use pre-colored images, but I really liked Jan’s coloring on this digi, because the black leather looks especially real! I did change the gold bells and buckles to silver, just because I really like silver, red, and black color combos. (I'm adding a watermarked image of the digi set because I wanted to share how versatile it is. I love the variety of digis and sentiments. This is the first time I've used this set and have a feeling I'll be using it often.)

myasperations 1-29-23

I wasn’t sure what I was going to create for the current Snippets Challenge until I remembered that the Christmas Craft Creations theme this month what “Snippets.” So… I started looking through my Christmas papers when I remembered a box of craft “treasures” I saved when we moved my mom to a nursing home in 2005. I knew that it held old cards, papers, lace, and more… so I went looking for it. Within a few minutes, I was immersed in warm memories as I dug through remnants of the many crafting projects my sisters and I made with Mom over the years. The little stocking on my card was made with scraps of burgundy velveteen, antique ribbon and lace that we had used in the late ’90s to make vintage Christmas stockings to sell at holiday craft shows. Mom would have loved this miniature version I’ll be giving to one of my siblings next Christmas.  Scraps of patterned paper that have an antique feeling and a brass charm from my stash help make a card for this sweet ornament.

Supplies:

·   Front Sentiment “Merry”- Stampin’ Up! Thinlits Expressions Dies (retired set)

·   Front Sentiment-“Warm and Cozy Holiday” from  Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Jolly Holiday)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Wishing you all the hope…” from We Are 3 Digital Sentiment Set  (Christmas)

·   All other items/supplies from my stash.

Polkadoodles Challenge- Week #3 Anything Goes

The current challenge at Scribbles Designs has a penguin theme so I just had to make a card using my favorite Scribbles Designs penguin, named “Brrr”! In this digi Brrr  holds a clock. And since both a front and rear view of Brrr are available, I just had to make a card with an open frame front! I layered on the bling for a bright and playful birthday card.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including The Sisterhood of Crafters (the penguin's name is Brrr, and he loves the cold) and Di’s Digi Stamps (the Celebrate sentiment and stars add lots of bling to the card.)

myasperations 1-23-23

One of my favorite challenges is the Butterfly Challenge, partly because the talented and generous sponsor provides easy-to-follow instructions for making a creative fold card each time. The current creative fold is the four panel card which is fairly easy to make. My card features all the colors-Forest Green/French Rose/Flax (Straw)/Fuchsia (Purple) and all three of the themes-Four Panel Card/Flowers/Butterfly. I used a scrap of upcycled acrylic to make the front of the card so that I can also enter the card into the current Lift Challenge (Make a card with a transparent front and emboss it.)

Supplies:
·   Butterflies Embossing Folder (Darice)

·   Instructions for Four Panel Card found HERE

·   Puffy Heart Stickers- Sticko’s

·   Front Sentiment “Thankful Heart”- Hero Arts (retired)

·   Inside Sentiment- A Freebie from Gingershouse (Keep Pressing Forward)

·   All other items from my stash.

Lift Challenge- Elevator Challenge #175

I made this card for the challenge at WeCraftCards Forum that required fringe on our card. This sweet digi is the perfect fit for the challenge, and since I love fussy-cutting making the fringe with a scrap of tan paper was a relaxing task! I cropped a few extra feathers from the little Princess’s hair accessory, printed and fussy-cut them to embellish the inside sentiment. So fun!

·   Digi- My Besties Digi Stamp (Little White Dove)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- Desert Diva (Follow Your Dreams)

·   All other items from my stash.
