myasperations 9-30-23

It was so easy to make a gate-fold card with this sweet digi from All Dressed Up named ”Pretty Bonnet” look so... well... pretty! (I have a friend who loves daisies, so I replaced the Easter eggs in her basket with daisies, trimmed from the bottom of the image. I know my friend will love this card!)
Supplies:
·   Digi- All Dressed Up Digital Stamp (Pretty Bonnet)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- “Spread Your Wings…” from Imagine That Digi Set (Airplanes) Company no longer in business

·   All other items from my stash.

If you’ve followed my blog for very long, you’ll know that it is pretty typical for me to upcycle items or scout out “good deals” at thrift stores, consignment shops, and after-season sales. It is always fun to come up with ideas to re-imagine the card with sentiments and other embellishments.  And the cards usually go together quickly, which is NOT typical for me!
Supplies:

·   Nativity Image- Torn card front a boxed set at 90% off after Christmas sale.

·   Sentiments- from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Nativity)

·   All other items from my stash.

This is my final entrant for the Butterfly Challenge.  The pretty foil butterfly paper used for the card base is actually from the wonderful packet of prizes that I won at a Butterfly Challenge in the past. (Mrs. A gives the best prizes!)  The front sentiment is a favorite digi from Eureka Stamps, where I was a DT until they recently closed their shop (hopefully just temporarily!)  The inside sentiment is from Decosses Dynamite Doodles (DDD), one of my favorite sources for free sentiments!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Path Of Positivity's TicTacToe: my card
covers the First Column; Feminine, Add Trimhandmade photo corners and purple frame,
and lettering, especially the inside sentiment, has a bit of a Vintage look.

myasperations 9-28-23a

Several years ago I discovered a talented artist named Tricia Moore who created adorable images to use in scrapbooking. A short time later I shifted from scrapbooking to card making and happily added more of Tricia's digis to my collection. This adorable little Santa Bear is currently available for FREE, and he comes pre-colored! I created a plaid background so I could enter the card into the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge, but actually think that he looks great paired with plaid!
I added some texture and bling with Stickles, Glossy Accents, and Flower Soft. (I love the fluffy, furry look that this product adds to snow, Santa hats, critters, etc. Right now I only have the White version, but Flower Soft is available in many colors, and I've seen some beautiful spring and fall floral scenes that are gorgeous with this added shout of color and texture.)
Supplies:

·   Digi- Little Scraps of Heaven HoHoHo Bear HERE (he is precolored and he is FREE!)

·   Highlighting and a bit more shading added with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Polar White Flower Soft- Available HERE

·   Inside sentiment-source unknown (I have thousands of digital sets with sentiments and can't figure out which set I nabbed this one from! If you recognize it please let me know so I can give credit. THanks!)

·   Stickles and Glossy Accents to provide some bling and sheen.

·   All other items from my stash.

This card features the brand new digi drawn by an artistic member of the Outlawz Team for the January Progressive Challenge. (Thanks, Sandra!) It creates a wonderful background , plus, if you visit the challenge site and view all the DT’s samples, you’ll see that it is a very versatile item! I used it as a backdrop for a beautiful Sheepski Designs digi, that artist owner Andrea Norris created in honor of National Bee Day this past May and offered to FB friends for FREE! (You can find the link in my supplies list below… and I also provided the link to Andrea’s Etsy shop as she has many digis that might catch your interest!)

I wanted to create a card for the current challenge at Double D’s: Birthday Balloons. This cute digi from Hetty Clare is a perfect fit! I made it extra special by featuring it on an easel card, and hand sketched the inside sentiment to match the greeting on the front. So fun!

I love the Snippets Challenge because it encourages me to use all the scraps that I hoard… I mean save for later use!  I found a treasure trove of not just Christmas plaids, but other plaids, and misc. strips just begging to be put to use. This card is the result. After adhering all the strips to a A2 sized base, I added texture by running the “quilt” through my Big Shot in simple patterned embossing folder. When finished, I added the ribbon, and sentiment, and have a card ready to send to a dear friend who is a seamstress!

I enjoy layering digis over backgrounds using a free Word program named Paint.net (find link in my supplies list.) You can find tutorials on the web to use either jpg or png digis and pictures to layer scenes. You can even control the amount of transparency of the backgrounds, hence you can see through BOO! I posted a picture of the layered scene that I was able to just copy, size, and print off. (Note-I provided a photo of the layering before I added coloring so you can see the transparency of the ghost. I also added a WM to this picture to respect the company's copyrights.  The original is saved to my laptop -with no WM- so that I can easily make similar cards in the future!)
