I had lots of
fun using a digi image named "Emmy's
Hat" to make my DT card for the Sheepski Designs FB Challenge. This
month’s theme is “Make it Feminine” but I decided to also make it a little bit
spooky, by using a free DDDoodles background scene named “Eerie Forest” (see
link in the supplies list.) After
coloring Emmy and her hat with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel pen, I added
some texture by cutting slits into the hat image so that I could pull black tulle
through to create a poufy veil. A strip of spiderweb-patterned ribbon creates a
hatband, and a few delicate pastel flowers tucked into the ribbon add a feminine
touch.
PS- Stop by Sheepsk’s FB page to learn more about the monthly
challenges. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself and
have a chance to win some wonderful digis created by artist Andrea Norris!
I’m entering it
into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (This is another
of my favorite challenges… as it has introduced me to many new amusement parks.
This card was inspired by an amusement park,
Nickelodeon Universe, that is actually inside the Mall of America in
Minneapolis, MN. Although it's enclosed within the mall, the park is HUGE
(7 acres wide and several stories high) and
from Sept 15 to Halloween is transformed into Nickelodeon’s Boo-niverse!; Simon Says Wednesday-Use a Background Stamp (My card
features a large digital stamp to set a spooky theme for the card); Di’s Digis
-Pick Three of Anything (The background digi
includes three bats, one just peeks out above Emmy’s hat); and Path Of Positivity’s-TicTacToe (my card fits within the
three items in the first column- Feminine, Add Trim, and Vintage.)
Supplies:
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Eerie Forest Patterned Paper- a freebie from DDDoodles can be found HERE · Front and Inside Sentiments- Computer Generated
· All other items from my stash.

Since I’m a DT for Sheepski Designs
(FB), I’m entering just for fun!
My
first entry into the Sweet November Stamps monthly challenge, which requires a
shaker card, was so fun to make. I don’t make many shaker cards because they
always seem to leak little bits and pieces all over the place! However, I did a
bit of research on Pinterest and found two versions that are easy to make and didn’t
require any items or tools that I didn’t already own! (I used the second
tutorial but added the first one since it uses another item that many of us
have in our stash and that I plan to try in the future. So… you have two options
from which to choose!)
I’m entering it
into several challenges including Cupcake Inspirations-Plaid (a thin strip of
plaid surrounds the shaker portion); and the Time Out Photo Inspiration (my
card includes a blue sky and lots of fall leaves.)
Supplies:
·

·

Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·

My final card for this post was made for a friend who recently
switched jobs. Until this summer, she worked as a valued member of my prevention staff, providing education and support to students in our after-school
program. Students, staff, and I, all loved working with her, and miss her.
I wanted to let her know that and hope this card serves that purpose. I'm pretty sure that it made her smile… and the scripture
inside will encourage her during the first month of her first year of teaching!
(You might notice that near the upper right section of the card, there is scrap of an old map cut into a star shape. The town where my friend is now teaching is within that star, and the yellow pencil, fussy-cut from a sheet of patterned paper, points right to it! Lastly, the sweet little student, holding out a shiny apple while calling out to her teacher, "Miss D" is sure to make her feel loved! )
