Reasons to Celebrate

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! The sponsor this week is Patty's Creations and I used the yummy image named "Tropical Drink with Umbrellas." You can find it HERE.  I printed the image on kraft brown paper and colored it with Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils. The celebrate sentiment banner on the front of the card is a scrapbook sticker and the inside sentiment is from a Whimsy digi set named "Vintage Sentiments." You can find it HERE [for just $3.]

This card is my final entry into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. Once again, I used a wonderful set of sentiments that has become a favorite for wedding cards. The We Are 3 digital sentiment set is named Dreams and you can find it HERE for just $1.50. I love the vintage look of tan parchment and it worked perfectly on this card.  The background is made from wedding scrapbook paper that I found at our local Goodwill. That is also where a found a pack of four wooden "Forever and Always" medallions. Layered atop a stretch of tan paper tape with punched edges, a few strips of ribbon and a little pink bow, the medallion makes a nice accent.

My final creation for this posting includes a sweet snowman face digi from artist Laurie Furnell. The original freebie, which I found HERE was intended to be a candy bar wrapper. However, I decided to make the gift a little larger for a chocolate lovin' friend. She has been complaining that the weather is already too hot so I wrapped the cute image around four Hershey's candy bars, taping it like a small package. Am figuring that she'll appreciate the reminder that winter is only a few months away [ha] and might even share the chocolate with me. The little hat and scarf were cut from fabric scraps. One note- I positioned the image onto the paper, allowing room all around to be able to wrap and tape the paper down. Also, Laurie Furnell has lots of great candy bar wrappers for all occasions. I really like the snowman Rolo wraps, too. And the templates on her site are very reasonably priced. You can find more HERE.
