More Friday Fun

Making another card using color challenge at CASual Fridays [I LOVE the mint and neutrals color combo. Have never used it before, but WILL be using it again.] Used another amazing set from Beccy's Place [this set is named "Bear with me" and you can find it here- beccysplace.com]. I colored the cuddling bears with a few shades of brown Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Brought the mint color in with sheer and satin ribbon, plus the background paper has small mint colored hearts. The sentiments are both from the set, which contains a generous five images and sentiments. [PS- for some reason it looks bluer in this photo than it really is.  In reality, it really is a nice shade of mint.]

Another card to enter into Simon Says challenges for Stamptember that require the use of stamps [not digi images] on a card. And, since I wanted to make a card for Double D's Mood Board Challenge [that depicts many kinds of wheels, So, I pulled out a favorite clear stamp set from a great company named Cat's Meow that, sadly, went out of business a few years ago. Was glad that I was able to order this set, Vintage Rides before that happened.  After I stamped the car and banner images on the card, I created masks of the two images onto Post-it notes, cutting the car windows out with an Exacto knife. I attached the masks on the images- easy peasy because I had stamped them on Post its- and used an old wood mount stamp from Embossing Arts to stamp the background. To add depth I stamped the trees a few times before re-inking the stamp [I think that is now called "2nd Generation Stamping. Back in the day when I taught classes at my stamp store, I called it echo stamping.] The sentiment on the inside is computer generated. I added silver and white gel pen details on the car, which you can see in the closeup.

  7. Great cards Kathy!
I like the pretty ribbon you added to the first one, the double layer was a great idea. I like the pretty spotted paper in the background too, it's a nice way to introduce the mint colour for the challenge.
Your second card is fabulous, the car image is awesome and you did a great job masking and stamping in the background. I love the little cans that are attached to the tailpipe too. Well done!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
