Rainbow Ribbon

I found a wonderful, and FREE, image that's perfect for this month's challenge at Calling all Sistahs. The mood board includes a rainbow of ribbons that represent the many types of cancer. This challenge has special significance for me because I know so many people right now that are battling various types of cancer.  I love sending them encouragement cards, and this challenge provides me with the inspiration to make those cards. I used a brayer brush and Kaleidacolor ink pad to create the strips of rainbow colors across the background. I then sprayed some Tattered Angels Glitter Mist across the card to add texture and a bit of sparkle. Printed of just the ribbon, coloring in the words and adding some glimmer with a metallic Gelly Roll pen. I love that the image comes with two parts, the front with the ribbon image and the back with a nice "created by" template. I trimmed this template to fit the back of the lavender card base, added a sentiment [this card will go to my dear sis, who is awaiting tests to see if the stem cell replacement surgery she had in July was successful. I think she will love this bright card and its loving sentiments. [You can find the wonderful image here- zenspirations.com/blog/a-grateful-heart-html]

Since I needed to make one more card for the Challenge at Double D's "Pop a Wheelie" challenge, and also for the Simon Says "Stamp It for Stamptember", I found the versatile Vintage Rides clear stamp set from the Cats’ Meow that I'd used earlier this weekend. Stamped the plane, pulling a banner, onto a trifold card that I made to fit into a business sized envelope. The plane is colored with Spectrum Noir marker. Made a cloud template with scrap paper and chalked in light blue billows to add a bit more color plus added a bit of silver and white gel pen details on the plane. I used a dark green ink pad to ink the treetops on a Stampscapes wood mount stamp named "Pines and Rocks #195G", then stamped the pines repeatedly before re-inking to add the hazy forest look across the bottom of the card.

I am enjoying my final month as a guest DT for Beccy's Place and wanted to make sure to highlight some of Beccy's many amazing sets before I finish this fun honor. [And it has been an honor. Beccy's images are such good quality, they print off beautifully and she has so many themes, from cute to dramatic, funny to sensitive… and everything in between.]
Anyway, I printed off a bunch of digi images a few weeks ago and am having fun creating with them. For this card, I used her set "Itty Bitty Botz" plus some free gear paper that I printed in grayscale [papercraftinspirationsmagazine.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/robots_papers.pdf] The Happy Birthday Sentiment is a freebie from paulaposts.blogspot.com/2010/03/happy-birthday-digital-stamp.html  [I printed off an extra party hat for the little robot on the card front.] And the balloon is an old wood mount stamp from Rubber Stampede.

  3. Your Sister will love this and I hope her surgery was successful, sending positive thoughts your way. I love you find so much inspiration from our challenge. It is also hard though to hear you have all, these worries. But your cards are always a joy to see. This one is so creative. I adore the mix of colours in the background and the mist does add a lovely texture. What a find in this ribbon was and such positive sentiments. Always a joy to see you join us at Calling All Sistahs

  5. What a wonderful card to send to your sweet sister, Kathy, it's so bright and encouraging. I'm sure she'll love it, particularly with all the words of love, support and encouragement you added.
Your tri-fold card is fabulous! I love the way you stamped the plane on the first panel with the banner trailing further behind... what a lovely surprise for whoever opens the card. The cloud background you created is awesome too.
You did a great job colouring the robot on your last card, he looks super shiny! I love the patterned paper decorated with the little gears, it coordinates perfectly with the image.

It's been a real pleasure having you on the team for the past few months Kathy, thank you for all your hard work... and thanks for the little plug too!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
