Weekend Crafting

Another gift bag to enter into the Simon Says Monday Challenge that requires some kind of "packaging" plus for the current Monday challenge at wecraftcards Forum. I used one of my oldest wood mount stamp set from Stampin Up named "Decorative Grapes to create a gift bag from a large Kraft brown envelope. Made a matching gift tag/card, then tore the edge of the bag and card to make them look a bit more rustic. The final touch was to add a bow made from a strip of paper ribbon that I've had since the early 90's. [It's amazing what you find when you organize, isn't it?]

Made another card that features sequins. This one went together pretty quickly, especially because I used a sketch as my guide . I used a sweet image from Gerda Steiner Designs named, appropriately "Cat Holding Sign."  [It is actually a sticker that was on the envelope from a Gerda Steiner recent challenge prize win. I couldn't bear to not give this little cutie another of his nine lives.] Made him center stage by adding bits and pieces of patterned paper, black photo corners and, of course, sequins. Entering the card into several challenges including Sketch Saturday's,  If  You Give a Crafter a Cookie [the cat cookies are my inspiration], CASual Friday and Simon Says Wednesday [both require bling], plus Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Wanted to make a monochromatic card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Decided to go with shades of white and grey. I embossed the snowflakes [with a Darice's Embossing Folder] on white vellum that has a pearly finish [you can't see it in the photo, but it adds an elegant sheen.] There is patterned paper behind the vellum that is light gray with snowflakes.  I created the sentiment on the front of the card and printed it off on white vellum. Once again, it is mounted on the gray snowflake paper. The inside sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Winter Fox set and the snowflakes are from an old Stampin' Up set.
