Friday Fun

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede I used two Eureka digi images that you can find on  stamponit.net. First I printed off the Butterfly background [ES 58501] to fit on an A sized card. Trimmed and attached it to black cardstock that was just slightly larger, taped both to an orange card.  Next I copied the digi, "Butterfly background" [ ES 58501] and clipped one of the large butterflies from the image. Colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it from the flock. Cut a pair of antennae from a scrap of black cardstock and taped it on the backside of the butterfly so that the antennae swayed above it's head. [In the process, I bent one on the antennae, but cutting those tiny things took time, so decided it would just give him a bit more personality! Adhered him to the card, then finished it off with some blingy corners that I upcycled from an old Christmas card.
Am entering this into several challenges including The Butterfly Challenge where the card follows two of the "Letter A" requirements, color-[apricot is one of the shades in the butterfly wings] plus theme- add layering  and the Mod Squad "Fall Colors" challenge because the butterly has many shades of orange, rust and apricot.

This month's Tiddly Inks challenge is named "Boys, Boys, Boys." I used one of their great images named My Dad's Truck [its available here for just $1.00 and comes with a free sentiment- https://www.tiddlyinks.com/digital-stamps/fathers-day-vintage-truck-digital-stamp].  The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com) Also entering this card into Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge and Bugaboo's weekly challenge, the theme this week is BINGO. I used the items in the middle row- twine, Washi tape, and monochromatic color scheme.

I recently discovered the website of an amazing illustrator, author and Ted Talk speaker named Elizabeth Dulemba. [http://dulemba.com/index.html] Elizabeth has created hundreds of digis and coloring pages that she offers fpr free download! I love this sweet illustration and just had to make a gift bag topper that I'm entering into a few challenges. [You can find this image, along with dozens more, here  https://dulemba.blogspot.com/2018/01/coloring-page-tuesday-snow-bunnies.html] I used a sentiment from a Whimsy stamp digi set named "Vintage Sentiments" for the tag.

The current Double D’s Challenge- requires footwear. I dug through my stamps and digis and found a few great candidates. This is the first. I used a sweet image I've had for some time. It was a wood stamp but I pulled it off the wood so I could use it with my MISTI. [I think it is a Hero Arts of All Night Media stamp.] Created the background by stamping the image lightly across the card front. Stamped one bold copy on a scrap of white paper. Colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and white gel pen then cut it into a square. Punched holes through the card and strung white string "shoe laces" through them, taping them securely down on the backside of the image.  Framed the cute pups with a few bright color and adhered them to the card front. Will add a sentiment when I decide who will be getting this cute card.
