myasperations 8-20-24a

Last month I created several yummy watermelon slice cards made with two papers from a Not2Shabby paper pack plus a template I found on Pinterest. I added heart-shaped “seeds” to each, making a line of “v”s with a Black Sharpie pen, then rounding them out to become simple hearts.  The watermelon slices were so easy and fun to make that I made them in 7 sizes, which I’m still using to make cards!  (You can find my original post, with details for making the slices HERE)
I’m entering this card into several summer fruit inspired challenges plus Paper Fundays Twist: (Summer Holiday/Vacation- during my childhood my large family had very few vacations, but my sweet mom regularly packed up picnics that turned plain old weekends into special events,  especially when we got to enjoy watermelon slices and related ‘seed spitting’ games!)
Supplies:

·   Not2Shabby 6x6 paper pack (Watercolor Cuties

·   Template and instructions for making Watermelon slices found HERE

·   Front Sentiment- Computer Generated

·   Weathered wood paper, napkin, wiggly eyes and other items from my stash.

This card also revels in another favorite  treat during the hottest days of summer, a large glass of  ice-cold lemonade! It features a free digi from Scribbles, but I trimmed just the glass for this card and saved the pitcher for later use. I used a fine-line black marker to trace the glass onto a scrap of acetate, fussy-cut the clear glass and set it aside. I cut the ice cubes and drinking straw and attached them to the inside of the glass, then added a layer of yellow vellum, trimmed to fit inside of the "glass" to finish the yummy drink. The citrus fruit background paper is a freebie from Craftworld.com, a website I discovered that allows you access to hundreds of free digis, papers and more! Learn more/join HERE)
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Allsorts: Summer Days  (Icy lemonade, or any flavor of Kool-Aid, helped keep my 5 siblings and me hydrated as we spent most every summer day in the yard, neighborhood or city park), Park Hopping-My Happy Place: I researched theme parks that included summer beverages and discovered Holiday World in Indiana, which advertises “Something for everyone” and hand-squeezed lemonade was in the long list of items that followed!), and Cupcake Inspirations: Happy Birthday. (This month, our friends at Cupcake Inspirations are celebrating their 600th Challenge! That's 15 years of offering us yumminess.... and this month they are also offering a bunch of prizes!)
Supplies:

·   Digi- Scribbles Freebie (Pitcher & Drink)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, and a Sharpie fine-line black marker.

·   Digi and sentiments are from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Gnomes in My Garden)

The August Sweet November Stamps challenge has a fantasy theme. So I had fun using one of my newest Sweet November Fairwees, named Snow Flurry Emaline to create a Christmas card.  I used the current sketch from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group on FB as the card's base, and incorporated pink into the card to fit the current ABC Challenge “P is for Pink.”
Supplies:

·   Digi- Sweet November Digital Stamps (Fairwee: Snow Flurry Emaline)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens

·   Inside Sentiment- Upcycled from an old Christmas card

·   Assorted snowflake stickers, snowflakes upcycled from acetate packaging, and patterned papers from my stash.

  2. All 3 cards are absolutely dariling! I could definitely use a sip of that cool lemonade right now.😁 Great research! Amazingly, lemonade is very common at the Disney parks in Florida; I spent a vacation hopping from one frozen lemonade stand to another. 🏰🌟🎢🎠✨ Spoiler alert, this would be a perfect entry for next month's inspiration board. 🍽️🍷🎉✨Have a great remainder of your week!
