This cute card features a sweet miss from Hetty Clare holding a basket of posies (i.e. assorted flowers!) The patterned paper works beautifully for this card, plus, I messed up on coloring one of the roses in her basket, and covered the oops with a few of the fussy-cut little flowers.
I created this card for three different challenges. Two have themes of
baskets and/or flowers and one (with the fun name of Snippets) encourages using some of the many paper scraps that I hoard…
I mean… umm... save... for later use)!
I’m
entering this card into several other challenges including Inspiration
Station: Photo (the floral paper on my card includes most of the colors in the inspirational
photo) and Park Hopping-My
Happy Place. (This fun
challenge has introduced me to many new amusement parks. I used the Park Hopping “inspirations” link to
find theme parks that feature flower gardens. Here is one I’d like to visit- Epcot’s International
Flower and Garden Festival,) Supplies:
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Inside Sentiment- “Thinking of You” Computer Generated
·
Basket Frame woven from scraps of various
shades of brown paper
·
All other items from my stash.

One of the challenges at
WeCraftCards this week is to make a card using some of our seldom-used patterned
papers, especially those with large patterns. I dug through my stack of
Christmas/holiday-themed papers, and scrapbook sticker sheets and found the
items to create this card. The slimline size, that will fit into a standard #10
(business) sized envelope was required because of the length of the Christmas
Banner letters. I punched mini-sized holes into the banner letters and strung them with thin red grosgrain ribbon, which helps them "swoop" across the card front, plus provides texture to the card. Scraps trimmed from the paper used on the front of the card is upcycled to
embellish the inside. (I do hate to waste almost anything!)
Supplies:
·
Front Sentiment Stickers from a “Carta Bella Christmas
MARKET Christmas Collection 12X12 Sticker Sheet”
·
Inside Sentiment- ‘It’s the most wonderful time…” from Beccy’s Place Clear Stamp Set
(Sugar and Spice) found HERE
· Holly Embellishments on sentiments fussy-cut from patterned paper.
· Mini-paper punch, patterned paper, red ribbon, and other items from my stash.

My final card for this
posting features Sweet November Stamps' little mermaid digi named “Skipper.” I
used a scrapbook template to lightly pencil Skipper into an oval, drastically lessening the time spent fussy-cutting the image. After
adding color, I added a few oval layers of colored cardstock behind the image and then adhered it to a journalling card. A sentiment
was added, then embellished with a small gold anchor (made with a paper punch,
scrap of metallic gold paper, and a strip of gold cord.
I’m
entering this card into several challenges including Time Out Challenge: It’s Always Summer Somewhere and Allsorts
Challenge: Seasons Delights (During my childhood I spent most of the summer
with my BFF’s at the city pool or a nearby lake, lying on the beach chasing the
"perfect tan." So this cute little mermaid brings memories of the delights
of Summer.)
· Digi- Sweet November Stamps (Skipper)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers
and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Journalling card, Anchor punch, and Oval template are from my scrapbook stash.
· Front Sentiment “Ocean is my happy place” from Imagine
That! digi set (Baby Mermaid) (company no
longer in business)
·
All other items from my stash.
