I created this extra DT card for
the August Sheepski Designs Challenge mainly because I wanted
to make an icy drink using Andrea’s artwork named “Birthday Cocktail.” The fact
that temps in my part of the US are supposed to hit the mid ‘90s tomorrow might
have something to do with that!
I’m
entering this card into several challenges including Inspiration
Stations photo prompt of fresh fruits (my card features lemon slices in the
background mandala, and a cocktail of icy liquor, complete with a crisp mint leaf, and lemon slices embellishing
the inside sentiment!), and Park
Hopping-My Happy Place (This is one
of my favorite challenges… and host Makira provides a listing that assists in
researching theme parks that offer specific themes, items, types of entertainment, etc.
This time I searched for “drinks” and learned that Disney’s Epcot offers visitors
the opportunity to enjoy “Drinking around the World" in one location!) and Cupcake Inspirations: Happy Birthday (This is a special month for their team. During August they're celebrating their 600th Challenge! That's 15 years of offering yumminess... and this month they are also offering over a dozen prizes!)

Park Hopping-My Happy Place (August) (Drinking Around the World-Epcot)
I wanted to make a card for the current Papercraft Challenges "Polka Dots." My card features red “dotted swiss” paper on the front and inside. The card also includes
lots of circles, making it appropriate for entry into the Double D’s challenge “Shapes.”
Lastly, the card features a cupcake topped by a bright red, and yummy,
cherry which would look right at home in the piles of ripe fruit
gracing the “photo prompt” for the current Time Out Challenge!
Supplies:

in business
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Inside Sentiment
“Happy Valentines Day!”- Computer-Generated
·

I’ve
really enjoyed the current sketch at the August Build Your Stash Holiday
Cardmakers group, so find myself making several cards using it! This card features
a cuddly Di’s Digi image named Wooly Ted. I opted for an unusual color theme, neutrals
(grey, white, and silver) plus red and green in Victorian and pastel shades. I
found lots of scraps in my paper stash that would work and got to work taping
them to few strips of packing tape. When finished, I colored the digi to match
the background shades and finished the card front.
An added note, I love adding little details on my cards... that are often not seen at first glance. An example? Check out the extra pic of the die-cut sentiment. Notice how I "dotted" the "i"? Doncha love it?!
I’m
entering this card into several challenges including Di’s Digi Stamps: Clean and Simple (I am not very
good at CAS cards, mainly because I love fussy-cutting, embellishing, and
layering. That said, this card is a Kathy-version of CAS.)
A sad note- recently Di Carubia,
artist/owner of Di’s Digi is closing her website, moving to her Etsy Shop.
currently offering 60% off her current inventory. (Visit HERE by the last day of August to shop and learn more.)
· Dig-Dis Digis (Wooly Ted) Retired

· Front

· Inside Sentiment- The Paper Shelter Digi Set (Vintage Xmas Designs)

Another amazing trio! I would be happy to join you with a relaxing lemon drop martini; I would suggest meeting at Disney Springs at The Boathouse Restaurant for one these. Ahhhhh..... how relaxing & fun would that be?!😁 Have a great week.
