Double Point Fold

This is my final entry for the Butterfly Challenge that features a Double Point Fold. It is a fun and easy to make card using Mrs. A’s instructions on the Butterfly Challenge blog. When planning the card, I remembered that I'd picked up a packet of beautiful Christmas placemats a few years ago at an end of year sale. They include Delft dinnerware so worked perfectly with this challenge. I wasn't sure how I would tie butterflies into a Christmas theme, then remembered once reading a sentiment that called snowflakes "winter's butterflies." I did some research on the web and found it! The butterfly in the inside is made with scraps of vellum, some bling, and a body with antennae fussy-cut from a scrap of black cardstock.
Supplies:

My final post features my final entry into Scribbles Designs ChallengeCard For A Child.” I know several young cowboys and cowgirls that would love to get a card like this one! I used a boot from a coloring page created by a child-book author, Jan Brett, as the template for the boot. The “tooled leather” was created with a scrap from a roll of embossed vinyl wallpaper that I purchased at a Goodwill store many years ago and have never used! (I created a “base” for the boot with kraft brown cardstock, then cut the embossed wallpaper into three sections and attached them to the boot base with double-stick tape. Shading and highlighting were then added to the boot sole and heel with markers and gel pen.) I used a Power Poppy Sketch as the base of my card, adding patterned paper, punched stars, and a free Happy Birthday digi.

Supplies:
·   Boot Template- Created with a Jan Brett Coloring page you can find HERE.
·   Kraft and other assorted cardstock from my stash
·   Boot Sole and heels colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Digital Papers- We Are 3 Digital Papers (Howdy)
·   Circle template from my scrapbooking stash.
·   Front Sentiment- A freebie from skogstokiga.blogspot.com (options change occasionally so this might no longer be available)

  8. Fun cards and all so different!!! What a great idea to use a recycled calendar page for the background on the Halloween card! Making a mental note as I always see expired calendars for dirt cheap after February or so. Thanks so much for sharing this with us and I hope you'll come back to play again soon. Remember you can enter up to 5 times per month!
