It’s Friday and time for the Colour Crazy Challenge.
This challenge is “Anything Goes” but adds one requirement- the creation needs
to include coloring in “any colouring medium you like, onto any project you
like, and in any colours you like.” I’ve never outgrown my love for coloring…
which is why making cards is stress therapy for me!!
This
week’s sponsor is Oddball Art Co. and my DT card features a trio of digis
named Boo Babies. I wanted to include all three of the creepy-cute
little guys and came up with an unusual idea… that involved a door on the front
of the card and the Boo Babies “trick or treating” inside of the card. The computer-generated
sentiments are compliments of my quirky sense of humor. (My hubby especially
likes the mummy!) Note- for some reason, it was impossible to get a photo where you can actually read the sentiments (I tried over a dozen photos!) The inside of the card reads- Frankie (Can I come in it's too people-y out here?) Mummy (I have to pee.) Drac (Can I have a drink?)
Supplies:
· Digis- Oddball Art
Co. Digital Stamps (Boo Babies)
·
Door- Measurements and instructions can be found HERE
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly
Roll white & silver gel pens
·
Sentiments- Computer Generated
· Cardstock, patterned
paper, metallic gold paper/gold brad (doorknob), and upcycled calendar page from
my stash
I just learned
that Kris Breach, artist/owner of Imagine That Digistamp is starting challenges
again! I served on Kris’ DT before she took some time off and really enjoyed
working with her… and creating with her wonderful artwork. So I’m excited that she is offering a Progressive
Challenge starting in November. Sign up HERE anytime between now
and the end of November to get started with your first digi for free!
Now… here is a card using one of my favorite
Imagine That digistamp images. It is from coffee-themed kit that includes 11 digis, 14
sentiments and 12 patterned papers (for just $10!) In celebration of the return of Pumpkin Spice coffee,
I used autumn colors on my card. The little coffee cup embellishment on the inside of the
card was made with an image from the digi set, scraps of the patterned paper
from the front of the card, and a little scrap of acetate (to make into the “dome.”)
The subway art sentiment is a freebie that
I found through the simplycardsmag website that
offers hundreds of free digis, sentiments, templates and more! And anything you
download is saved on the website for later access. Easy Peasy!
Supplies:

As winter is
blowing into our state (8 inches of snow on Monday… followed by heavy sleet and
ice on the roads today) I enjoyed making a Spring themed card for the wecraftcards
Forum challenge “Singing In The Rain.” A
Beccy’s Place digi and sentiment from the “Stanley in the Rain” digi set was
fun to color. The cute little umbrella was fussy-cut from a sheet of stationary
that I’ve had in my stash for over a decade. I didn't have any paper or stamps with
rain... so I upcycled a cloud photo from a calendar and drew the raindrops with
markers and a white gel pen. Time for some splashin’!
Supplies:
· Digi and Sentiment-
Beccy’s Place Digital Set (Stanley In The Rain)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Cardstock, umbrella
stationary and upcycled calendar page from my stash
