Three Seasons

In my last post, I shared a card using a fun Bugaboo character named Gus and a hilarious- and FREE- sentiment about not having a beach body! I decided to make a similar card using Gus’s favorite sidekick, Stella! The inside image of Stella is actually cut from a digi that features both Gus and Stella. I used an upcycled calendar page on my card… which is one of my favorite techniques. I left the inside panel of the card blank for adding a note.
Supplies:
·   Front Digi- Bugaboo (Stella Calendar August)
·   Front Sentiment- Gingershouse Freebie  (Attention summer beach body)
·   Inside Digi- Bugaboo (Stella and Gus Socks and Sandals)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiments- Computer Generated
·   Assorted cardstock and upcycled calendar page from my stash

Cute As A Button- August: CH #59 Anything Goes

Last year I met a talented young artist named Sherry West via her FB page. The images she creates are adorable, so I was thrilled to win a few of them through contests on her FB page HERE. This sweet image was provided as a freebie for a recent contest named “Back to School Poppi.” (Join her FB page to be alerted to future freebies and challenges. I printed Poppi on Kraft paper, then had fun coloring her in beautiful autumn colors, with bright white accents. To add a little depth to the image, I printed off an extra copy of her head and upper body. After coloring and fussy-cutting, I attached this section of the image with foam tape. What a cutie!
(BTW- Sherry is also an author. Her first children’s book, named “It’s Raining Cats Dogs and Pollywogs,” quickly sold out the first run on Amazon after its release. You can find it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other sources across the web.)
I’m entering this card into several challenges, including Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge (Kraft plus orange and black with a twist of white lace.)

I created my final card for this post to enter into Crafty Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge with the optional twist “No Stamp or Digi.” I love to upcycle, so I grabbed my box of old cards and started digging. I found this lovely angel and did a bit of fussy-cutting. I wanted to create a card with a vintage feeling, so looked through the box of treasures I inherited from my sweet mom and found this lovely crocheted doily. (At least I think it's crochet. I inherited my love of coloring from my mom… but nary a stitch-HA!-of her talent for sewing and needlecrafts!) Scraps of mulberry paper added layers of texture and color. The sentiment on the inside of the card is upcycled from an old greeting card. It’s mounted atop a scrap of music from a box of tattered choir books we found in my hubby’s grandma’s basement (most were from the 1920s through the 1950s). The final touch was to add a gold flourish, which is actually a scrap left over after I removed a border sticker from its backing. The sentiment on the card front is computer generated.
I’m entering this card into several challenges, including Christmas Crafts All Year Round (image features Autumn colors of golden yellow, rust, brown and the deep purple of sumac leavesand Never Before Used Schtuff! (My Mom's hand-crocheted doily. Because of that, this card will be going to one of my siblings this coming Christmas!)
