June 9- (Friday)
Have been having fun with some new Dearie Dolls digis and made two cards today for a few challenges with one of the sweet images. (You’ll be seeing more of these cute images pop up on my cards in the future!) The first card is being entered into a few challenges. The first invited us to create a card that depicts summer. I couldn’t resist an ice cream card (although I enjoy ice cream year round.) And the ice cream truck reminds of my childhood. Whenever we heard the cheery music ringing down the street, we ran out with allowance in hand to buy our favorite summer treat! (I haven’t heard that sound for three decades, but recently discovered that it is still programmed in my brain. We have a new clothes dryer that plays a cheery little tune when it finishes cycle. Every time I hear it, I crave ice cream!) Three of the challenges focus on masculine images, and the final one has a theme of travel. (I think traveling by way of an ice cream truck would be a pretty yummy ride!)  Note- The free digi is from http://freedeariedollsdigistamps.blogspot.com

Used the same digi on another card and entered it into a few challenges that focus on patterned paper, and one challenge from a charitable blog that invites paper artists to create cards that will be provided to hospitalized children.

Our temps in the Midwest  are nearing 100… so we have lots of sunshine right now. Was fun to create a card that featured the sun (for a Simon Says challenge) and an uplifting sentiment (for a Word Art Wednesday challenge.) I always look for opportunties to use some of the vintage sheet music that we found when cleaning my hubbies grandmothers basement. This one "Count Your Blessings" is from a music book dated 1928.

For my final card today I cut hexagon shapes out of golden yellow paper, mounted on white card stock and then used an embossing folder to “cement” the two together and add a bit of swirly texture. Stamped several Printworks bees, added a cute little free digi sentiment from papersmooches.blogspot.com and BAM. Done!
