June 8- (Thursday)

Created this card for a challenge named “touchy feely.” To create the “sand” on this castle, I mixed sand, glitter and a little brown flocking with a generous amount of clear embossing powder to hold it all in place. The result is a nice rough texture that pops off of the glossy background photo (that is upcycled from an old calendar.) Her goggles are made with colored acetate, adding another slick texture. My flash created a glare, but I decided to use this card because it shows the layering of the goggle. Plus, adds a bright sun spot! Another card using the resist technique and Love stamp. Unlike the elegant Love card that I posted on Tuesday, I think that the dotted background paper and sheer bow give this version a whimsical feeling. Since the image is embossed, it also qualifies for another challenge.

This months challenge over at Tiddly Inks is to make a card that is rectangular in shape. I used their adorable stamp set, “Beary Sweet” to make this diagonal double fold card. Tucked two bookmarks made with two other images in the set into the folds. The two little girls that will be receiving this card are avid readers. So... I think they will love it!
