The mid-week challenge at wecraftcards was TicTacToe. The three “ingredients” I selected were lace, sentiment and flowers. The butterfly is from a stash of my mom's treasures that were passed down to me when she passed away several years ago.The flowers are on background paper, which I colored with markers.) Oh, and I hand-stitched the butterfly to colored vellum to add some translucent color to the butterfly wings.

The next challenge was to select three “ingredients” from a Bingo-type board to incorporate into a card. I selected along the top line options- chipboard, flowers and shaped base to make a purse card. The inside of the card includes the bottom of a small school lunch bag to hold a gift card or small treats inside of the “purse.” You can find a tutorial and some lovely samples for this purse here http://lilsweetpeasplace.blogspot.com/2010/07/paper-bag-purse-tutorial.html

Wow... you hand stitched that butterfly, now that is awesome. Very creative and great job. Thanks for playing in our June Bug challenge at Power Poppy!
ReplyDeleteStacy... I hand-stitched the butterfly to the vellum backing! My sweet mom, or one of her many crafty friends, had made the butterfly. I think it is either crocheted or tatted. (I can never tell the difference!)
