myasperations 7-9-24a

I’m going to need a few Anniversary cards later this summer… so was excited make this card for  Allsorts current challenge “Romantic Occcassions.”  My card features a Bugaboo Stamps digi and a sentiment, that always makes me laugh!
Supplies:

·   Digi and inside sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps (Sadly no longer in business.)

·   Front Sentiment- a Freebie from Desert Diva (Happy Anniversary)

·   Pioneer Black Photo corners- available from several sources

·   All other items from my stash.

This beautiful Vintage Lighthouse Postcard digi is from one of my favorite FB sites for free digis-Free Printables for your Junk Journaling with TLC. This wonderful site, created and sponsored by a generous artist named Paulette Slater, offers dozens of free sentiments and digis on a regular basis. You can visit the site and join to have access to all the wonderful digis that Paulette offers! (Note-Paulette also has a shop where she sells beautiful sets of digis, and hides some freebies there, too. You can visit it HERE.)
This digi was a recent freebie and I love that it comes with a sentiment included!  The digi has a daytime sky, but I wanted it to look like nighttime so that I could add stars in the sky. So after copying the pre-colored digi and inserting it into a Word document, I was able to use the Word program and toolbar to darken the image in with a few quick steps: 1-click on the colored image, 2-click PICTURE FORMAT in toolbar, 3-click COLOR, 4-click CORRECTIONS to adjust the lightness/darkness of the image.
After printing the digi, I added shading/highlighting and details to the lighthouse, rocks, and light beams, then added starsto the sky with a white gel pen.
I added texture to the card by creating a braided edge (template and tutorial in supplies listing), and weaving star-filled blue ribbon through it.  A few scraps of twine, cardstock, gold paper, and an anchor punch helped me create nautical embellishments to decorate the front and inside sentiment.
Note- I provided a photo of the original "daytime" digi to show the difference. Because the digis that Paulette provides to members on her FB page do not have a watermark, I protected it with my WM info. If you join her FB group, you'll be able to nab a WM free version... and so much more!

Supplies:

·   Pre-colored Vintage Lighthouse from Paulette Slate’s FB page. (Join HERE then you can link to the digi HERE.)

·   Shading, highlights and details added with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Braided Edge Card- Template HERE, Instructions HERE  (Tutorials also available on YouTube.  THIS ONE shows how to make a template that produces a tighter braiding)

·   Ribbon and Anchor punch- JoAnnes Crafts.

·   Inside Sentiment- “Don’t Lose Hope…“ from  Lili of the Valley Digi Set (Quotables-Life’s Journey)

·   Digi and sentiments are from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Gnomes in My Garden)

·   All other items from my stash.

Sweet November Stamps is hosting its annual Christmas in July card challenge. I had fun making this card using one of their free digis named “Simple Betty” (although I think of her as Simply Adorable Betty myself!) Using supplies and sentiments from my stash, this bright card went together fairly quickly!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Passion for Markers Challenge:Favorite Colors (I love the festive shout of Christmas that Red and Green gives to a card), and Park Hopping-My Happy Place (this fun challenge is a favorite as it introduces me to theme parks around the world. Several are now on my bucket list, especially one named Santa’s Village in New Hampshire. I wish I’d known of it when in college as it looks like it would have been an amazing place to work during the summers. (Of course, maybe I can do that when I’m fully retired?! Hmmm?)
Supplies:

·   Digi- A freebie from  Sweet November Stamps (Simple Betty)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens

·   Front Sentiment- “Merry Christmas” from Eureka Digital Stamps (Currently not available)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Once Upon a Shining Star” from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Snow Time)

·   Circle template, holly patterned vellum, cardstock, glittery silver paper, pine tree patterned paper, and a ribbon scrap from my stash.
