My husband had recently teased
his best bud, Kerry, that his upcoming birthday would allow him to join the “Grumpy
Old Man Club.” Since Kerry is a coffee lover, this is the card that is on it’s
way to him. I think it will make him laugh out loud, or at least
chuckle a bit as he shuffles across the kitchen to refill his real coffee mug!
I’m entering this card
into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (I checked out the
inspiration link on the Park Hopping challenge and all Starbucks lovers might be happy to hear that their favorite beverage is served in all Disney Parks worldwide!)
Supplies:
·
Coffee-mug card base template found on Pinterest HERE
(I made one change, tracing the rounded top of the mug on both sides of the
fold)
·
Digi- Dr Digi’s House of Stamps (Grumpy Sentiments Sheet)
· Coffee
bean patterned paper- from an Imagine That! digi set (company no longer in
business)
·
Cardstock, scrap of vellum (for coffee steam) and remaining items from my stash.

I wanted to make a Jungle-themed card for
the current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and remembered that I had a great
free snake digi from artist/illustrator, Dustin Pike’s blogsite. I printed, colored, fussy-cut and positioned
him on a jungle”ish” background made with tropical leaves (hand drawn on paper
scraps), green ribbon, and an upcycled section from an old postcard. I wasn't sure a reptile is considered an animal, but some quick web research HERE said "A snake is an animal that belongs to a group of animals called reptiles..." so... YES!
An added note- I discovered Dustin
Pike’s blog is still open, and offers a few freebies, but this isn’t one of them However, he is now one of the designers for Whimsy Stamps and
you can find over 250 of his creations there, including a clear set named “Sassy Snakes.” Supplies:
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Sparkly Heart Stickers- Hobby Lobby
· Googly eyes and all other items from my stash.

This sweet bunny from Lili of the Valley reminds me a bit of me. He
looks joyful, loves daffodils, and is “retired”! (I learned this fact when I looked
for a weblink to put in my supplies list!)
Supplies:
· Digi- from Lili of
the Valley Digi Set (Spring Bunny Daffs) Appears to be retired
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

· Inside Sentiment-
“Sending a Happy Hello” from Power Poppy Digital Set (Blossoming Cherry)
· Butterfly Digis-
No longer available. But HERE is a link to a favorite Scrapbooking website that offers other beautiful butterfly
freebies.
· All other items
from my stash.
