Trio of Cards

For this card, I used a sweet digi from a talented young artist named Sherry West. Sherry has an Etsy shop HERE a FB page HERE and is also making a name for herself as an author. Her first children’s book, named “It’s Raining Cats Dogs And Pollywogs,” quickly sold out the first run on Amazon last  Christmas. How exciting is that?!  The name of the image on this card is "Fairy Merry.” However, I wanted the Celtic Sentiment to show behind Merry, so when I fussy-cut around the digi, I clipped off her wings. I opted to make her look like an Irish maiden by coloring her beautiful tresses red. A layer of patterned vellum helps set her off against the sentiment. And a few shamrocks cut from patterned paper add even more Irish charm.

Supplies:
·    Digi- Sherry West (Fairy Merry)
·    Front Sentiment- Celtic Art Postcard (from my stash)
·    Inside sentiment- Desert Diva (Sending You Sunshine)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Clover patterned paper- Hobby Lobby
·    Foliage vellum from my stash

I wanted to make a card to enter into a few challenges that were to feature guy cards and decided that this fun digi and sentiment was the perfect fit. Adding some glittery stars turns the little musician into a rock star!

·    Digi- Bugaboo (Rock Star Boy)
·    Inside  sentiment- Uselesstrinkets (happy narwhal lets party sentiment)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Assorted background papers from my stash
·    Stars fussy-cut from silver glitter paper

Cute Card Thursday- Challenge #624 Anything Goes

The Outlaws Sunday Challenge is called “Rose Garden” so I dug through my stamps to find a rose image that I haven’t used for a while. This wood mount stamp from an old Stampin’ Up set inspired me to do a bit of gold embossing and paper tearing. (I wasn't able to get a very good impression with the Hello stamp. It's an old wood-mount and I need to pull it off the wood and add some adhesive to it so I can use my MISTI. One by one I'm doing this to my older rubber stamps so that I can get brighter and cleaner image.)
Supplies:
·    Image- Stampin’ Up! wood mount stamp (not sure of the name of the set, I pulled it from the wood years ago. I do remember it’s from the late ’90s)
·    Front sentiment- Embossing Arts (the company is no longer in business)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Gold pigment ink and embossing powder- from my stash
·    Assorted background papers from my stash

  3. All 3 are great cards! I am almost done unmounting my wood stamps! I did sentiments first, then Christmas, then SU! sets, and now I'm left with everything else! Its not too bad though, as I did a good purge before the project of stamps I know I won't use again. Thank you for sharing a card at Jan's Digi Stamps challenge and be sure to come back and play along again soon!
