This year with
all the bugs going around I cannot wait for Spring rains to show up and herald
the change of the seasons! I love the joy of Spring that this wonderful image
from Beccy’s Place conveys. I wanted the wonderful rainbow background to show,
so I printed the image onto vellum and traced around the image with an oval
template so that even MORE of the rainbow would show. Since this card features a trio of friends, I feel that the sentiment
from another of Beccy’s digi sets fits perfectly! I'm entering this card into several challenges including Simon Says "Something Feminine" (I asked my hubby if he and his friends would ever huddle together under an umbrella and he guffawed loudly. I took this as a firm "no." So I think that a gaggle of friends giggling under an umbrella is a girl thing to do, making this a feminine card! )

My final creation
for this posting is a Christmas tag made with mulberry paper. I always hate to
throw any of this beautiful handmade paper away so save the scraps and use them
on projects like this. The base of the tag is a scrap of cream-colored paper
with faint gold snowflakes. I overlapped strips of double-stick tape to this
base, creating a primitive tree frame, then started laying on scraps of the green
mulberry paper. I used a snail adhesive to fill in the spaces with smaller
scraps. I added a transparent “Wish” sticker that I'd purchased from Oriental
Trading Company’s after Christmas sale back in 2008. (I remember the exact year because
it was just before a major move and my hubby gave me a hard time about all the
craft items I had just purchased. He complained about having to transport the
additional boxes of stuff- and there were several- to our new home. He actually
said that I already had enough craft supplies. I don’t think that is even
possible, is it? Especially when the supplies were 60-70% off!) Instead of stamping
a to/from on the back of the tag, I think that I’ll attach this tag to a card
front so it has center stage!

PS Thanks for the lovely visit.
Great projects Kathy! I agree that the little bear on your first card is adorable, and the sentiment fits perfectly. Love the pink and brown colour combination.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with hubby that it's unlikely you'd find a group of men huddled under an umbrella together, although I guess it depends on the circumstances and the group! Love the rainbow background, it's very appropriate for the image.
You mulberry paper tag is fabulous, what a great way to use scraps! It will look fantastic on a card, plus if you don't secure it too firmly, it could be removed and used by the recipient.
Cheers,
Beccy
