A Cowpoke and a Butterfly

I created this first card for the current Bugaboo “Down on the Farm” weeklong Challenge, Day One Theme. We lived in western South Dakota for many years where “down on the farm” meant cows and cowboys! So… for my first card in this fun challenge, I featured an Imagine That set named Lil’ Cowpokes (which includes lots of images plus papers and is now on sale for just $5). For my card, I used several items from the set; a digi and a patterned paper on the front, plus a sentiment on the inside.

Supplies:
·    Cowboy digi and inside sentiment- Imagine That (Cowboy)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·    Mini Star Punch and metallic glitter paper - from my stash
·    Assorted background papers, and twine ribbon from my stash.

My second card is for on rog my favorite challenges, the Butterfly Challenge where we learn new folds/techniques and can also win prizes!  The current challenge is Q for Quarto Fold. This was a new fold for me, but with the excellent tutorial was it went together quick and easy. I used a wonderful digi from artist Ching-Chou Kuik named Beloved Hydrangea as the main image. The large butterfly worked perfectly as the “clasp” for the Quartro fold. The Thinking of You and Happy Birthday sentiments are from an Imagine that digi set named Sentimental Thoughts. The sentiment on the very inside is from an unknown source. I now have over 6000 digital images tucked inside of 455 folders of digi sets so I cannot just pull all of the sentiments up a title. I know that this sentiment is hidden in one of those sets as I did print it off to make this card. And… I need to find it again because I really like it. So, when I do, I'll add the source here. In the meantime, if any of you recognize this sentiment and can tell me it's source, please let me know.] I printed off a second copy of the Hydrangea digi and used the blooms and leaves to decorate the front of the card and to frame the inside sentiment. Am entering this card into several other challenges including the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge (Blue, plus green and brown and wings!), three Ching-Chou Kuik challenges (including a special one on FB to celebrate the artists January 3rd birthday!), and the Path of Positivity Challenger (the card represents my character trait of striving to see the positive side of situations and to be optimistic.)
