For the second card, I stamped two copies of the giraffe to decorate a
wedding card. I added a bit of tulle for a veil and made a bowtie from a scrap
of black ribbon. [I also added eyelashes to the bride... because... well...wedding photos?!] The sentiments are computer generated. Am adding this card
into several other challenges including Bugaboo Bingo [top row: die/punch,
sentiment and texture- layers of foliage and slick texture of tropical tag].

My second
card is another wedding card… but this one is quite different. Instead of
whimsical and funny, I opted for bold and elegant. I was inspired by a card
with a template that I found on Pinterest. You can nab it HERE. I used a few scraps of an embossed
wedding invitation to add some texture to the wedding dress bodice. I also
added a strip of sheer white ribbon. some leftover tulle and several tiny diamond
rhinestones. For the groom, I added sparkly buttons by using tiny black
rhinestones. The sentiments are computer generated and decorated with stickers
from my scrapbook stash.

My final
card this posting is a beauty. I upcycled the flowers, jar/vase and lacy border
from a card sent to me by a dear friend several months ago. It brightened my
day during the middle of winter and now helps me to welcome Spring. Yay. I
added a nice butterfly [stamp is no longer on the wood mount but I think it might
be from Embossing Arts] that I colored with Tombow markers. The sentiments are
from Desert Diva. You can find them HERE.

Oh, my goodness gracious, that Gerda Steiner set is so CUTE! I'm sure I NEED it! You made two completely different cards with it, the giraffe being the zoo animal in common. Who would have thought to do a wedding card? I absolutely LOVE it! All your cards are outstanding. Just want to say thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer!
ReplyDeleteHello again, Marcia. I'm back wearing a different DT hat this time for your black and white wedding card. Now, why didn't I think of that? It fits the challenge perfectly and it's absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad you joined us at Double D!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are so beautifully layered, Kathy, and they all tell a story! I think you outdid yourself this month with your Twofer zoo cards! I love the set you used and how you've made your first jungle scene by layering your tropical clear tag and leaves for them to stay partially out of sight! So cute! And your wedding card is so fun and adorable with Mr. and Mrs. Weird B. Giraffe! Love the lashes, veil, and bowtie! You think of everything and you do it on the inside as well as the outside!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #15! Hugs, Darnell

These are all so fun and/or lovely, Kathy. Your cards for Twofer are very clever. That tag behind the little safari sweetie is so cool! What a great find, and it really adds to your jungle scene. And how clever is that wedding card?! I would never have thought to make a wedding card with zoo animals, but yours works fabulously! And your sentiment works so well with the 'bride and groom,' too. Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
