Mostly Christmas

I've had a super busy week at the office. Have been stamping when I get home in the evening (stress therapy) but didn't take photos until I had finished up a bunch of cards today. (I love spending Saturdays in my craft room. So... will be posting several tonight and tomorrow. Enjoy!)

Many years ago I saw a simple card like this that inspired me. Finally creating a card that contains similar images and a beloved scripture verse. Used a set of baby feel from Biblical Impressions (available at www.stamponit.net) to make the front of the card. To make the inside handprint, I traced my hand on a piece of scrap paper, cut in out and used it as a stencil and stamped a  small heart stamp in red.  The scripture stamp is also from Biblical impressions, however, it looks like it is no longer available. They do have an unmounted stamp of this verse that should work, you could even cut it apart for use (like I did with mine!)Am entering the card into several challenges including Beccy's Place Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge (for the letter "N" as in Newborn King!), QKR Challenge (the company that now carried Biblical Impressions stamps!), Word Art Wednesday, and two of Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenges.

One of my paper artist friends at wecraftcards offered a midweek challenge that includes a fold I have never made before. Called a Bridge Fold, I was amazed at how easy it was to make. You can find a great youtube tutorial here  (www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIWNsmMNkUM) The stamp is one I've had forever from a company named Uptown Stamps.

I found the definition of unique here- www.synonym.com/definitions/unique. Printed it up on my computer using the Papyrus font. Found directions for making the hanger from a paper clip on Pinterest and the ties were made with misc. scraps. Seems like I never have enough guy cards, so will be making more of these! Added stitch lines with a white gel pen so that it meets the requirements of the current Simon Says Monday Challenge.

I won this wonderful Christmas set of Whimsy stamps last month and am having fun using it. This time, I kept the card simple, to follow a current sketch challenge at Bugaboo stamps. Am also entering it into Whimsy's current challenge, plus three "critter" themed challenged (Simon Says, Cute Card Thursday and Di's Digi Stamps.) The sentiment is from Beccy's Place, Seasonal Windows digi set, which is a favorite of mine! http://beccysplace.com/seasonal-window-digital-stamps (I did have to cut it down a bit to fit on my card, which fits into a regular mailing envelope.)

  1. What a wonderful card Kathy, the little feet are gorgeous! Great idea to use a baby stamp for the Newborn King... I never would have thought of it, but I'm definitely adding it to my inspiration list.
I've never heard of a bridge card either, but I've added it to my list, it looks like a great fold. I love the colour scheme you chose and the snowflakes are gorgeous. The sentiment is sweet too.
Your Unique card is lovely, the colour combination is wonderful. I like the little coat hanger you made from a paper clip, it's super cute.
I love the paper you've used on your last card, particularly the dark green holly. And the little kitty image is so sweet! Your colouring is fabulous.
    Cheers,
