Three Seasons

A few weeks ago on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge I won a wonderful Whimsy stamp set called Meowy Kiss-mas. This is the first card I made with the set and the images are soooo cute! For this card, I covered the front of an A2 sized card with brick scrapbook paper. The flames are fussy cut from clear document folders that come in a pack of assorted colors. You can find them in office supply stores. They are often cheaper than colored vellum and are more translucent. I'm also entering this card into a few other challenges including Beccy's Place Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge for the letter "H" (Hearth).

The current Lili of the Valley challenge is named, "B is for…" My card is entitled "B is for Blowing Fluff" and uses the LOTV image "Dandelion Clock." Am entering the card in a few other challenges.  One requires sparkles, so I added microfine glitter to polar white flower soft that I glued to the dandelion fluff. So pretty!

I love everything about gingerbread- the taste, the wonderful fragrance when it is baking, and the adorable shapes of the cookies. So I enjoy making cards that include gingerbread images. I think this image, which has been removed from its wood mount, is from Printworks. I white embossed it on a scrap of a wax lined bakery bag (it is lightweight, which allows for the background paper stripes to show through.) Shaded the gingergal with a tan marker, and added a few highlights with red and green markers. The final touch was to add some colorful rickrack corner mounts from my scrapbook stash.

Made another Thanksgiving card with a Stampin’ Up die. The card front includes scraps of cardstock and patterned paper.  I created an inlaid sentiment by making die cuts from cream cardstock and orange vellum. Covered the back of the inlay with a strip of clear laminate to hold them together, the fussy cut around the sentiment. The lamination means no loose ends to worry about and also allows for it to be attached to the card with double-stick tape. This card will fit into a regular envelope.

  2. Great card and thanks for the tip about using the coloured document wallets. Thanks for sharing at Catch the Bug. Pippa DT

  3. Those kittens are adorable Kathy, what a great prize! I love the little one clinging desperately to the Christmas tree... how cute. You did a great job hand cutting the flames for your fireplace, and the brick work look great.
The fairy image on your second card is darling and the mixture of glitter and flower soft looks fabulous. The little bit of sparkle definitely adds a touch of magic to your project.
What a good idea to stamp on to the baking paper, it definitely suits the gingerbread image... both in colour and in use. I really like how the stripes show through the light weight paper.
Your thanksgiving card is wonderful Kathy, the die is lovely. It's a great idea to laminate the word to keep everything together, and it could also double as a bookmark!
    Great job!
