My entry in Beccy's Place Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge for the letter "T" features one of Beccy's free images that I am calling "Trio of Bells." I printed the digi onto vellum and colored it with Tombow markers and white gel pen. Paired with a silver embossed stamped sentiment the card is oh so pretty!
(Oh my! I was just alerted by Beccy that this isn't her image. So... I did a bit of research and discovered that it is actually a free digi from TLC Creations- createwithtlc.blogspot.com- which is one of my other favorite sites for beautiful digis!)

Several years ago I developed a few designs for a friend who owned a small stamp business. This Viking was one of the designs. I live in the Midwest, where there are LOTS of Minnesota Vikings fans, plus married into a Norwegian family, so the cards I make from this stamp are pretty popular. For this card, I added an extra layer to hold the three section sentiment and added torn paper to provide a bit of texture.

I've owned this PSX stamp for many years, and love the bold image that it provides. For this card I made a box fold base that is a variation of a design that I found here stampladee.com/collapsible-box-card-with-deb-valder. On the back of the card is a story about the Real Santa Clause that I clipped from a Salvation Army newsletter years ago.

Truly beautiful creation and Santa image! Thanks for joining us for the Double D, "Here comes Santa" Challenge.
ReplyDeleteYour bell card is absolutely beautiful Kathy, the image is stunning. I'd love for it to be one of my designs, but sadly it isn't. Credit has to go to another artist for the magnificent drawing.
ReplyDeleteI love the Viking card you made, the sentiment is great and brought a smile to my face. The little Viking guy is very cute and you coloured him beautifully. I really like all the torn edges too.
Your Santa Claus box card is wonderful. The image is lovely and festive and good old Santa looks as jolly as ever. The story of the real Saint Nicholas is what really makes this project extra special though, thank you for sharing it.
Cheers,
Beccy
Beccy, thanks for the heads up on the bell card. I spent some time picking out free images from your site to use in the alphabet challenges and didn't realize that I had added one in from TLC (who also offers amazing freebies!) I made that correction on my write up.
DeleteA fab trio of cards, love that you printed the first image onto vellum its so pretty
