Created this little Baby Jesus tag from scraps of paper, ribbon, raffia, white cotton that I tore into strips and the gold lining of an upcycled envelope. After its removed from the gift, it can be hung on the tree as an ornament. So cute! Entering
it into a few challenges including Deep Ocean Challenge "Inspired
by Song/Movie." This tag represents the song, "Sweet Little Jesus Boy.
My favorite version is recorded by Larnelle
Harris.

I first positioned three images of the gnome digi on my screen, all the same size. One image I kept intact. The second image I cropped to just include his right hand and arm. The third image I cropped to just include the nose and mustache. I made a second copy of this cropped section and "flipped" it in reverse so that I could layer it over the pipe stem. Colored the separate sections that I'd be using for layering, fussy cut them out and set them aside. Colored the base image, only coloring the edges of the sections that would have a layer on top of them. Hand drew a little gingerbread cutie on a scrap of kraft cardstock. Added a bit of color and set it aside. When it was time to assemble the little guy, I just had to do a little clipping and manipulating of the mustache and the cookie to get them to correctly settle in. I love the result. He looks downright ready to party!
PS Since he looks quite different from the original, I am adding a photo of the watermarked set. It will also allow you to see the great stamps in this set. My hubby especially likes the "Go big or go gnome" sentiment.

Love this Whimsie Doodles image named "Lizzy's Pumpkins." The card base is a variation that I made to a design found here stampladee.com/collapsible-box-card-with-deb-valder. The leaf image is from Embossing Arts, stamped with various shades of ink, fussy cut and attached to the card. The sentiment is a free digi from decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.ca

I have more than a dozen old roller stamps from SU that I never used until I found instructions on Pinterest for converting them into border stamps. Using them with my MISTI it is much easier to get a nice image. The inside greeting says, "Hope your day is as cool as you are."

Debby
Your gnome is fabulous. Love this card.
ReplyDeleteAgain, this is great idea. I love how you fussy cut his mustache for depth and to cover his pipe.
ReplyDeleteI love cards that incorporated a little gift Kathy, and an ornament is a fabulous idea! I love the happy, smiling face you added and the mop of dark hair. The raffia looks great for the hay in His manger and I also like the gold card "halo" you added.
ReplyDeleteI'm even more impressed with this gnome Kathy, you really did an amazing job! What a great idea to add the gingerbread man... and much better for his health too. It was certainly a labour of love, but definitely worth the extra effort. Love it!
Cheers,
Beccy
