Misc Fun

Recently found this adorable free digi from sliekje.blogspot.com. I enlarged the digi and positioned it off the side of the paper to meet the requirements of the current challenge at Power Poppy. (Being able to change the size and position of images is one of the many things I like about working with digis.) The little tag is from Lili of the Valley 24 Sentiment Tags digi set.

I'm always looking for fun ways to give treats to my amazing staff. Recently stumbled upon Christmas Crackers on Pinterest. There were several tutorials, but I chose this one because I've been saving paper towel rolls for a while and don't remember why! (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/514043744938209250/) It went together really quickly so will be easy to make 5 of them and very cheaply! Used a blue placemat with Christmas Tea images, so decided to make tags to match. Stamped a PSX wood-mount with Memento ink on two different kinds of silver metallic paper. Am providing a close up so you can see the difference. (I think I like the really shiny one best.)

My fifth entry into Beccy's Place Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge includes a Ewe (for the letter E). This is an oooold Azadi Earles stamp and I've always liked his cute fluffiness! I stamped him on grey cardstock and love the way that the white gel pen highlights make the little details pop. Mounted on snowflake paper with snowflake accents and a bit of texture thanks to polar white Flower Soft, he is sure to warm someone's Christmas. Especially when paired with the inside sentiment that I printed off on my computer.

Our house mouse friends are being a bit mischievous again. But, I think this time it is innocent. Who hasn't struggled with tangled Christmas lights?! The sentiment is from Beccy's Place set named "Narcissus." When looking for a background paper I spied this upcycled Starbucks coffee box from after Christmas sales a few years ago. (Yes… I save EVERYTHING that has any potential for use. Just ask my hubby! On second thought, don't ask him since really wants me to downsize.) I discovered that the squiggle in the design looks like an "M" when placed horizontally. How fun is that?!

  4. Your projects are wonderful Kathy, you're doing a fantastic job on your holiday cards! I really like the way you've offset the little girl on your first card, the design is fabulous and you did an awesome job with the colouring. I like the tiny tag.
I'm sure your colleagues will appreciate the beautiful handmade bonbons you're making for them, what a thoughtful gift. Great idea to use placemats to cover the rolls, then they get to use it while they're having their Christmas dinner. I like the matching tags your making too.
Good thinking for your "E" card Kathy, I doubt many of us would have thought of ewe! I love the matching sentiment... great play on words. I agree that the white pen looks fabulous against the grey card stock.
Your last card is very cute and once again, you've done a great job on the colouring of this image. I particularly like the way you colour the light bulbs. I have a friend who also collects and stores (I won't say hoards) "useful" bits and pieces for her crafting. Thankfully she's very good at keeping all her treasures neat, tidy and out of sight so it hasn't caused any problems... and she makes divine projects with her found items.
    Great job Kathy.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
