Fall & Winter creations

Quick and easy tag made with and scraps of paper and ribbons and a sentiment I printed off on blue vellum. The final touch was a delicate little snowflake with a bit of bling. Entering it into Simon Says Monday Challenge "Christmas Gift Tag" and the Deep Ocean Challenge "Inspired by Song/Movie." This tag represents the song, "White Christmas."

Beccy at Beccy's Place notes in a recent challenge, "One of my favorite techniques is altering images slightly to fit in with whatever occasion I'm creating for. I like to call this '"extending my stamps' because I'm getting more use out of a stamp than what was initially intended." I also love doing this but didn't have a name for it. (So, thanks, Beccy!) It only makes sense that I extend one of Beccys sweet images from her "Gnomes in my Garden" digi set for her current Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. This is my entry for Day 6 of the alphabet. So… brought to you by the letter "F" we have Footwear! I'll be "extending" other members of this Gnome group to become more festive in the next few posts.... so wanted show you how this amazing set looks in its original form.
The sentiment is from tlcCreations- set "Medley of Greetings 1" that I won in last month's challenge. This is just one of the great sentiments in the set. You'll be seeing more of them in the future!

I bought an old, off-brand, die cut machine from a friend several years ago. It works fine, but I am still learning how to use it. And am slowly collecting dies to use. This one is from a Stampin’ Up set. Added a “backdrop” of dried fall leaves that I laminated to preserve. And, including the die cut into the lamination means no loose ends to worry about.

The current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge requires the use of our oldest LF set. This was an easy task for me. I only have one LF set… so far! Have several of my wish list so hope to remedy that situation soon. Until then, here is the sweet fox and sentiment from the "Winter Fox" set. I paper pieced the fox and mug to add color and texture it adds. A few  few dusty colored corner mounts adds a bit of gleam to the card.

  3. How clever to use the gnome and add a stocking. I have this set of stamps as well and this is a great idea.

  4. What a cute little tag Kathy, hard to believe you created it from scraps. It's always nice to use up the offcuts though, especially when they're as pretty as these. I like the way you've attached the two pieces of ribbon, looks fantastic.
I'm so impressed with the way you "extended" the gnome stamp! How fabulous! I love the little stocking he's holding onto and I love the way you coloured the image. I'm looking forward to seeing how you alter the other images too.
The laminated "Thankful" card is wonderful, great idea to use actual leaves. I love the colours, all perfect for autumn.
Your final card in this post is wonderful, the little fox is adorable and who doesn't love a nice hot chocolate or coffee on a cold winter night? I really like the purple snowflake paper and those metal corners, great additions to your design.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
