Once again, this posting features cards for spring, summer and winter.
This card, alight with cheerful color, just shouts spring! It was put together quickly with a photo from a calendar page, light blue patterned vellum, and a simple sentiment from Beccys Place digi set named “Iris Garden.”

This week’s Monday challenge at Simon Says is… well… a challenge for me! It requires that a card be distressed. Since I prefer crafting cards that are more of a cute, chic, scenic, floral, elegant or anything besides distressing, these cards are difficult for me to make. I often overwork them when inking, coloring, smudging, spraying, etc. So, I’m using a more gentle method of distressing for my card. I’m adding torn and crumpled paper. Hope that qualifies? (PS The sentiment is actually a prescription for dealing with stress. So, in that way this really is a de-stress card, right? Ha! Sorry… bad joke! But the inside sentiment might bring a smile. It reads, “It’s your birthday, so click those flip-floppy heels together and enjoy!”)

Wonderful cards Kathy, you've done a great job as always.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of reusing the calendar page to make a pretty card. Some of the images in calendars are gorgeous and I always feel bad putting them in the recycle bin at the end of the year. I may just borrow your idea and harvest some of the pretty pictures.
I think you did an awesome job with your distressed de-stress card (and I liked your joke... it gave me a little chuckle). I think the torn and crumpled paper definitely counts as distressing.
Your Christmas card is very cute. Those little faces at the window are just adorable.
Well done on all three cards Kathy, they're fabulous!
Cheers,
Beccy
