After putting in a long week of meetings and trainings, I needed some craft therapy! So put in many wonderful hours of time last night (actually until the wee morning hours) and felt the stress just melt away!
Love this flurry of color rising to the heavens! Had fun using one of my old Kaleidacolor ink pads to meet the components of the top row: butterfly, single layer, and stripes.

Double D Challenges- Pastels

Another challenging challenge entry- to distress it! For this card I’m using torn paper and a hand-bent a piece of metal to shape a central focal point for the card. I even burnt the tip of the metal to try to add a little bit more distress to my creation... and didn't even hurt myself in the process!

My next card is my third entry into Poppy Power’s current challenge-“Copy a Bloomie” i.e. their design team members. This one was inspired by a beautifully elegant card created by Katie Sims. (I provided a photo of that card below.) For this card I was able to use some of the lace scraps that I inherited from my dear mom's craft stash. She would have loved that I upcycled it for this card, especially since the card also featured beautiful roses, her namesake flower!

One final card during this therapy session that helps me beat the July heat in Wisconsin. A Christmas card that meets the requirements of many challenges. (Before blogging and following so many challenges, I had no idea that Christmas in July was such a big thing! But, I am lovin’ it since I am a Christmas year round kind of gal!)
To make the frame, I cut a square from a plastic lace tablecloth that I found at, of all places, a hardware store. I was there in search of another set of magnets for my MISTI, and found a beautiful assortment of plastic lace tablecloths when walking through the housewares section. Who knew that a hardware store would provide card making supplies!
