I thought I was finished crafting, and when cleaning up the mounds of treasures on my desk, I found my Stampin’ Up Decorative Grapes set. Decided to create a few more single layer CAS cards before I put the set away. First cut a strip from a post-it note and masked the sentiment area, then stamped the grapes and leaves. The card in the back, on tan parchment, includes sponging. I highlighted some of the grape bunches and leaves with Tombow and white colored pencil on the one in the front, (It looks white in the photo. But is actually cream with tiny tan dots!) Stamped the sentiment, then finished the cards by framing the sentiment space with a ruler and Hunter Green marker. They look so very different when finished. Hard to believe they were made from the same stamp set.

Had fun making a Christmas card with a sense of humor. This little gingerbread cutie is a free clipart image that I found here http://clipartsign.com/image/27979. He comes pre-colored, so I just needed to do a little fussy cutting, add the background paper and rick rack paper edging, the finish with the sentiment that I printed off on my computer. Since I still had sheets of acetate out from the message in a bottle card, I cute one to size to fit the measuring cup. Used an Exacto knife to trim around the bottom of his “hands” and slid the acetate under them. Secured the acetate with a little tape on the back side of the image and a small trail of snail adhesive along the bottom of the measuring cup. You can’t see the acetate in the photo, but in real life it adds a glossy addition to the card. So fun!

Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating a Christmas in July event with daily challenges!
Here is my entry for Day 6 (July 20). For this challenge, we were to use colors from an inspiration photo. It contained some lush varieties of pinks, from blush to bright fuchsia, with a green accent. The ribbon on the believe badge looks much more red in this photo than it is in real life. (I really need to make a photo box. It's on my to-do list.)

Bouncing from winter to summer, my final card for this posting is a basket of yummy looking strawberries. Drat… now I’m hungry for strawberries, preferably on top of a bowl of ice cream. (I am from Wisconsin… and we do like our dairy products!)

Too cute. . . love the gingerbread man stamp and the sentiment is too funny! Thanks for playing along at the Casual Fridays Christmas in July Challenge.
ReplyDeleteMore great cards for your stash Kathy! The grape cards are very artistic and look like they would have been lots of fun to make. Masking is one of those techniques that I always seem to forget... I should keep a list close to my desk.
ReplyDeleteThe gingerbread man is adorable leaning up against the measuring jug, what a sweet little image. I love the funny sentiment that goes along with it... very funny!
You did an awesome job colouring the basket of strawberries, they look so ripe and delicious. Happily for me, there's a strawberry farm right across the river from us and it's now prime strawberry season in my part of the world. Guess you know where I'll be heading tomorrow!
Great cards Kathy.
Cheers,
Beccy
Gorgeous coloring and love how you split the design up to insert the sentiment. Thank you for sharing with us at AAA Cards.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely selection of projects, and what a cutie that gingerbread man is! I love your grapes cards. This is one of my go-to and favourite layouts, with the images stamped around a masked sentiment strip. Love the different effects with the same set.
