Three cards- two cute and one cold!

Recently won a challenge at Cute Card Thursday and loved being able to pick some wonderful images from Di’s Digi Stamps. One of the adorable images, when paired with a sentiment from a popular children’s book is sure to delight a parent or child's heart! (And it gives me joy, too!) I didn't put a sentiment on the inside of the card. Not sure if it will be used as a baby card or child's birthday card.

One of my favorite digi sources is Beccy’s Place. Beccy offers a free digi when she announces her monthly challenge. This month it was a cute patchwork pony. As soon as I saw this image I envisioned paper piecing this little cutie with several background papers. So… printed the pony of on four different papers. Then cut and pieced the little guy! Was a tedious process, but I like the results! The care was also entered into AAA TicTacToe challenge, middle line- monochromatic, add a tag and no embellies.

This final card is being entered in several Christmas challenges (it’s never too early to start on Christmas cards!) The snowflakes are hand crafted, folded and then fussy-cut one-by-one just like we did in elementary school! Then, using a technique with acetate drawn from this card http://craftingwithjoanie.blogspot.com.br/2012/02/miss-savannah-birthday-card.html, I created a veritable blizzard in a card! Not sure who will receive this card come December, but will be fun to send it on.

  1. Wow! I LOVE that snowflake card Kathy, it's awesome! I bet the recipient will be absolutely thrilled to receive it come Christmastime. You did a great job cutting out all those snowflakes... I remember making them at primary school too, which is kind of funny considering it never snows here.
I love the sentiment on the first card you made, I can understand why you wanted to use it, it's so sweet. The little characters on the inside of the card are just adorable and beautifully coloured too.
Your middle card is also wonderful. Hand piecing all those different parts was certainly a labour of love, but definitely worth the extra effort.
Great job on all three cards!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
