myasperations 5-3-22

One of my favorite challenges, the Butterfly Challenge, offers several colors and themes we can use on our cards, plus provides instructions for a creative fold/technique that we can use if desired.  I’ve really enjoyed the current technique, Floating Strip Card, and this is my third one in the last three weeks. The front of the card is an upcycled tulip image from an old PSX Stamp catalog. The inside of the card features a little bling as I placed an intricate delicate paper doily along the top of the fold and spritzed some gold mist spray over it. The result is a very light, shimmery, echo of the doily. I cut the doily in half and layered it atop a rectangle of pink paper on the front of the card. I love how it peaks through the acetate and floating strips! My card features all four of the colors: Fuchsia and Flame, (plus a bit of Fawn and Flax);  and all three themes: flowers, floating strip card, and butterfly.

I had such fun creating this sweet little card. I’ve had blue features in my stash for a long time and it was fun to use a few of them on this card.  The ecstatic look on the little birdie's face makes me smile, mainly because I really like cupcakes, and so does a friend who will be getting this birthday card in a few weeks when I take her out for coffee… and yummy gourmet cupcakes at a local chocolate truffle shop!

Supplies:
·   Digi-2 Cute Ink Digital Stamp (Cupcake Birdie)

·   Colored with Decorative Chalks, Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Puffy Heart Stickers- Sticko’s

·  Sentiment “Sweet Birthday Wishes”-Imagine That digi set (Company no longer in business)

·   Yellow photo corners are available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting Corners)

·   Blue feathers, patterned paper, cardstock, and other items from my stash.

But I especially liked the dogs who were great cuddlers!)
