I am honored to have served as a Guest Designer for Beccy Muir at
Beccy’s Place and am now one of her “Contributors” (which means that she
provides me with digis or clear stamp sets several times a year and I get to
create cards or other items with them!) It
is always fun to see the images Beccy invites me to use. This time, the digi and sentiments are all
from a just-released set named Floating By. I had a box of decorated card fronts
and envelopes in my stash and this one reminded me of an ebbing ocean scene. So
I made it into that! I used just the front of the card, cutting it at the fold,
and tearing it along the lower “foamy ocean edge.” I also tore fluffy clouds
from scraps of white cardstock and adhered them onto cloudy sky patterned
paper to create the horizon. A little work with a light grey marker and my
trusty white gel pen adds ripples to the water around the old geezer! (Oh, and
I colored his nose with white and pale aqua to make it looks like he is wearing
“Blue Lizard” sunscreen… in honor of all my Australian friends! If you look closely, you’ll notice that his belly is
a bit sunburned. I guess he forgot to cover it with sunscreen. (Heh heh!)
I’m entering this card into several
challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Color/Inspiration
Photo (my card features blue, plus several of colors in the photo, plus the old
geezers floatie is round like the plates hanging on the wall.)

graduations start across the area in the next few weeks. So I’m busy making
cards. This one features three freebies (graduation silhouettes, sentiment and text
background paper), plus a fun sentiment from a Beccy’s Place digi set. When you
mix them all together, add a mortarboard (graduation
cap) made with scraps of paper, and gold accents (photo
corners, punched stars, and a tassel fussy-cut from scraps of glittery gold paper),
you end up with a one-of-a-kind graduation card!
· Graduation Silhouettes- A freebie from

· Background Graduation
Sentiments- Freebie from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles HERE
·
Front Sentiment “Happy Yay
Day!” from a Beccy’s Place Digital
Stamp set (Funny Farm)
· Inside Sentiment-
Desert Diva Freebie (Congrats You Did
It!)
·
Gold photo corners- available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting
Corners)
·
Mini Star punch and metallic gold paper and other items from my stash.

I wanted to make one more entry for the current Christmas Craft
Creations challenge that requires adding tartan plaid in our creations. I opted for a Christmas tag that features a cute elf digi named
Deacon. Sadly, he is no longer available (I miss Bugaboo Stamps!) The Christmas
tag is actually from my sweet Mom’s stash… and I’m pretty sure it is vintage,
or maybe even an antique. All I know is that Mom was a major packrat and I now
have a few dozen of these gems in MY stash! I wanted to add a little depth to
the image, so I printed off an extra pair of his striped legs and pointy shoes, colored, fussy-cut, and mounted them with foam tape. Scraps of red ribbon finish off this colorful
tag.
Supplies:
·
Plaid patterned paper- Hobby Lobby
· Elf Digi- Bugaboo Digital Stamp
(Deacon Elf) Company no longer in business.
·
Colored with Spectrum
Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·
Vintage gift tag and ribbon from
my stash.
