myasperations 4-25-22

This is my second entry into the current Butterfly Challenge, which is one of my favs!  Each challenge offers several colors and themes we can use on our cards, plus provides instructions for a creative fold that we can use if desired.  The current challenge is to create a Floating Strip Card, which I learned is really easy to make! The front of the card is from a colorful upcycled tulip card. My card features all four of the colors: Fuchsia, Fawn, Flax, Flame, and all three themes: flowers, floating strip card, and butterfly, which I printed on acetate, embossed with a fine line black embossing powder, and colored with markers and white gel pen. (I decided to decorate the inside of the card with a strip of the upcycled tulip card and will add a specific sentiment when needed.)
Supplies:

·   Butterfly Digi- Fred She Said (Butterfly and Blossoms)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Instructions for Floating Strip Card available HERE

·   Transparency film, black embossing powder, cardstock, and other items from my stash.

I love gingerbread cookies, both enjoying the real ones fresh from the over, AND making cards with digital ones. I love the look of this little guy, printed onto kraft brown paper and with a tartan plaid background. He is the perfect addition to the inside sentiment from Beccy’s Place that holds way too much truth in it! “Frosting” was added with a small bottle of 3-D paint I’ve had in my stash for some time.
I'm entering this card into several challenges, including one that is new to me.  Named Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Group, the FB-based group is hosting a Spring Linky party. They also hold weekly sketch challenges that I plan to enter when my schedule allows because you can never have enough Christmas cards!

Artist Francesca Lopez developed this sweet little bunny girl for the April Cute As A Button Progressive Challenge on FB. I cropped the digi, cropping it to focus just on her head and shoulders so I could have her peeking through a large wreath. I created the wreath by sketching a donut shape that would fit the front of a large (A7 size) card on the purple-flowered paper. I bit of fussy-cutting around the flowers created the wreath base.  I fussy-cut additional purple flowers, plus cut several from the pink-flowered paper and layered them atop the wreath. A scattering of leaves cut from scraps of green vellum, plus items from my stash and two sentiments finish the pretty Easter card.
