The current challenge at The Paper Shelter is to create a card that
celebrates World Book Day. I opted to use a wonderful digi from TPS named that makes
me think of Peter Pan standing on billowing sails as he teases Captain Hook on
the deck far below. Oh… and this occurs as the ship sails through the sky! The blue bottle was created with a scrap of a blue plastic
index divider sheet. (These are one of my favorite and unusual supplies for card
making. Sometimes called
document file folders, which come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found
in the office supply section of most stores. They're cheaper than colored
vellum and more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but
they are easy to fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors. And you can write on
them with permanent markers, which is how I traced the bottle from the digi
onto the plastic!)
Supplies:
·
Digi- The Paper Shelter (The Dreamer)
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Sparkly Star Stickers- Hobby Lobby
· Moonlit
Sky- We Are 3 Digital Paper (Moody Night)
· Front Sentiment- We
Are 3 Digital Sentiments (Magical Sparkle)
· Inside Sentiment –
“A Little Magic…” from a Whimsy Stamps retired digi set
·
Sharpie black permanent fine-line
marker
·
Blue plastic document folder and other items from my stash.

I had leftover items I'd fussy-cut for a card I posted yesterday (flowers from two colors of patterned Core-dination Paper and leaves cut from a scrap of green vellum), which I put to use on this card. They frame the inside sentiment, plus are perched atop the veil wornby the cute little bunny bride. (The veil is actually a small piece of tulle that
you can barely see, but I love the texture
and whimsy it adds to the card.) I also added a little color and sparkle to the inside sentiment with pink and silver sparkle gel pens.
Supplies:
· Digi- All Dressed
Up (Mr & Mrs) Simply Cards/Papercrafts Issue 139- no longer
available
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Sparkly Heart
Stickers- Hobby Lobby
·
Front Sentiment- Desert
Diva Freebie (Happy Anniversary)
·
Inside Sentiment-“And the Fairy Tale Continues…”
(source unknown)
· Two Shades of Core-dinations
Flowered Paper- JoAnne’s Fabric
· All other items
from my stash.

I love this cute little snow cowboy… especially when paired with hand-tooled leather (aka vinyl wallpaper scrap from my stash) and a paisley neckerchief, made with scraps of some wonder western themed paper from We Are 3. The sentiments both come in the digi set. Lastly, I added some texture and a vintage touch with some scraps of twine (he is attempting to lasso the Y'all tag!) and metal staples on the cardstock frame around the little snow dude and on the sentiment frame inside of the card!
