Ching-Chou Kuik's April Challenge
is to include a “four-legged friend” in our card. I love bunnies, so CCK’s
Sweet Bunny just begged to be highlighted on my card. The front sentiment,
lilies on the patterned paper, and butterflies all help present it’s Easter
theme. (Since butterflies represent “New Life” to me, they are one of my
favorite additions to both Easter and Sympathy cards.) Speaking of butterflies,
this purple beauty if from a free sheet-full of pre-colored butterflies. I like
printing them on vellum which adds a lovely translucency to their wings!
I’m entering this card into several
challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Color
Challenge: TicTacToe (inspired by the
items pictured in the top row from left to right- lots of green, includes the
color lavender, plus a purple butterfly.)
·
Digi- Ching Chou Kuik (Sweet Bunny)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Front Sentiment- “Happy Easter” (Computer Generate)
· Inside Sentiment– “Some Friendships Feel Like Spring” Polkadot Orchard Digi Set (Joy Of God’s Love)
· Colored Butterfly
Digi- Freebie available from HERE
· All other items
from my stash.

I had fun making this card for the April Challenge at Colorful
Options where this month’s color is yellow. The front sentiment is a
pre-colored digi from Imagine That! Digi Stamps (Sadly, the company is no
longer in business. I will continue to enjoy using Kris Branch’s wonderful
digis for as long as I can create cards.) I had fun adding a bit of texture and
whimsy to the card by adding wings to the bees with vellum scraps, highlighted
with a white gel pen.
I’m entering this
card into several challenges including Outlaws Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge
which highlights a song named “Just Above the
Meadow” by Anil Kumar Panda. (The poem includes surly bees. I think the ones on
my cards look happy, possibly because they know that Spring is just around the
corner. Amen!)
Supplies:
· Digi- “Happy Bee
Day” from Imagine That! Digi Stamps (company no longer in business)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Inside Sentiment- “Hope Your Day is the Sweetest
Ever” Beccy’s Place Digital Set (Sweet As Candy)
· Cardstock, vellum
scraps and all other items from my stash.

Easter/Spring
My final card for
this post moves us from Spring to Winter/Christmas with a cute digi from All
Dressed Up named “Christmas Tree Fairy.” I tried to give the card a vintage
feeling by using antique-looking background paper plus a sepia-toned color
palette. Little bits of magical bling are added with metallic stars and the
sparkled of Star Dust Stickles. Ahhhh… lovely!
Supplies:
· Tree
Topper Digi- All Dressed Up (Christmas Tree Fairy)
·
Colored
with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver
gel pen
·
Background
paper-Freebie from Graphics Fairy (no longer available)
· Inside Sentiment “Enjoy the Little Things” from a Beccy’s
Place Digi Set (Gnomes in My Garden)
·
Stickles-
Star Dust (on fairy wings and dotted in the air… to add the magic?!)
· Small star punch, cardstock, and other items from my
stash.
