Take Flight

This is my final entry into the current Butterfly Challenge, where we learn new folds/techniques and can also win prizes!  This time I didn’t opt for the featured fold… because I wanted to have lots of space to create my sparkly line of butterflies! A while ago a friend sent me a few strips of double-sided adhesive into which she had used a butterfly die (which was the perfect fit for the Sketch N Scrap Challenge.) My friend noted that I could use the die cuts with microfine glitter to create a striking card. So… this is my attempt to do that! It was a bit tedious, but I do like the results. The next time I’ll change the order of the glitter colors, as the wings all have some shiny little black spots sprinkled throughout.  My card includes one of the colors (Salmon) and one of the themes (butterfly.) Am entering this into a few other challenges including

Supplies:
·    Butterfly die-cuts- (unknown, sent to me from a friend. I am checking with her for the source. Will post it when available.)
·    Sentiments- We Are 3 Digital Sentiments (Harvest)
·    Assorted background papers from my stash

I needed one more Valentine and had fun creating this cute card using a Patties Creations sweet digi. A few Bright plaids (one is scrapbook paper the other is from a Dollar Store napkin) and two sentiments from the We are 3 Valentines set pulls this colorful card together. So cute!
Supplies:
·    Bear digi- Patties Creations (Valentine Bear without Sentiment)
·    Sentiments- We Are 3 Digital Sentiments (Valentines)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Assorted background papers from my stash

The wecraftcard Forum is hosting a crop named “NomNomNom.” The Thursday challenge, titled “Krispy Kreme” is  to make a card front that has a hole in the front like a donut (or multiple holes). I decided to make a CAS card (for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge) with, of course, a donut as the focus. I used a circle template from my scrapbook stash to draw the donut.  A bit of coloring with a few tan markers, some “frosting” made with a scrap of pink cardstock. Sentiments from The Project Bin and a swoosh of white liquid pearls add the final touches.
