Because I just hate to throw things away I have a ton of scraps! So occasionally I try to put them to use. This card is an example of such an attempt.
It was made from scraps of cardstock plus some patterned papers-blue stripes
and seashells. I even did a bit of fussy-cutting to use a few of the bits and
pieces! (I sketched the sailboat using a photo on Pinterest as my guide… and
the sentiments are computer-generated.

For my
final card this posting, I pulled out a wood mount stamp from Embossing Arts.
Although this company has been out of
business for many years, it has a warm place in my heart. When a dear friend
and I opened a stamp/scrap store in South Dakota in 1999, Embossing Arts was
one of the first stamp lines that we carried. So I have man of their great
stamps. This sweet one is a favorite! I wanted the teddies to have a really soft
feeling, so opted to using my chalks, applied with plain old Q-tips. The result
turned out exactly as I’d hoped. Raided
my stash for paper, the little puffy heart sticker and a strip of yummy brown
ribbon. (I call it yummy because it is upcycled from a box of Godiva chocolates
and carries with it memories of… well… sweet yumminess!)
