Dragon Chow

It’s Friday, so time for another challenge at QKR Stampede!  Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? My DT card features two whimsical QKR digital images plus a computer-generated sentiment that I found several years ago on FB. (I tried to find the source, but it appears from this article that it is attributed to several people, a magazine, a newspaper and more. So I hope I’m not violating any copyright by using it!)

A Perfect Time to Craft 2020-Anything Goes- Challenge #2-2020

Because I just hate to throw things away I have a ton of scraps!  So occasionally I try to put them to use.  This card is an example of such an attempt. It was made from scraps of cardstock plus some patterned papers-blue stripes and seashells. I even did a bit of fussy-cutting to use a few of the bits and pieces! (I sketched the sailboat using a photo on Pinterest as my guide… and the sentiments are computer-generated.
Supplies:
·    Boat- paper pieced with scraps of cardstock and patterned paper
·    Sentiments- Computer Generated
·    Seashells and small anchor embellishments- cut from scrapbook paper
·    Small star punch and scalloped frame template from my stash
·    Assorted background papers from my stash

For my final card this posting, I pulled out a wood mount stamp from Embossing Arts. Although this company has  been out of business for many years, it has a warm place in my heart. When a dear friend and I opened a stamp/scrap store in South Dakota in 1999, Embossing Arts was one of the first stamp lines that we carried. So I have man of their great stamps. This sweet one is a favorite! I wanted the teddies to have a really soft feeling, so opted to using my chalks, applied with plain old Q-tips. The result turned out exactly as I’d hoped.  Raided my stash for paper, the little puffy heart sticker and a strip of yummy brown ribbon. (I call it yummy because it is upcycled from a box of Godiva chocolates and carries with it memories of… well… sweet yumminess!)
Supplies:
·    Image- Embossing Arts “I’m Glad There’s You” (company no longer in business)
·    Inside Sentiment- QKR Stampede (Thinking of You Q-digi16108)
·    Colored with chalks and Q-tips
·    Background papers and brown ribbon from my stash
·    Puffy Heart Stickers- Sticko’s from WalMart
