Gnomes and Friends!

I’m excited to share my second card as a DT at Sheepski Designs! The theme this month is "Hearts and/or Flowers." Stop by the challenge at the Sheepski blog to learn more. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself and have a chance to win some Sheepski  Designs digis!
For my card, I chose one of Andrea Norris’ newest digis… that I just love… named Garden Party. (My funny hubby said it should be named “Six Pack.” I think he has Super Bowl beverages on his mind!) When I look at this sweet image I can almost hear the gnome's thin, reedy voices singing the old Perry Como song, “I Love You Truly.”  (Note- This song is special to me for an unusual reason. Back in 1978, my sweet hubby celebrated our 1st anniversary at a local nightclub. After our meal, we were surprised when the waiter brought us a surprise dessert and a shiny Happy Anniversary helium-filled balloon. When we got home we sucked some helium and sang I Love You Truly” to each other. Our munchkin voices caused major laughing fits. I do have to add that since I now teach drug prevention I don't advocate using helium in this way. But... the memory still makes me giggle. And these guys just look like they could provide a nice chorus of the song. At least one of them is actually singing!)

This is my fifth card made in honor of Scribbles Designs 7th birthday (two are Scribbles digis, three are from other companies.) The theme for any created item is Penguins. I shared a card in my last posting that features this fun penguin from artist Sherry West. Sherry has an Etsy shop HERE a FB page HERE and is also making a name for herself as an author. Her first children’s book, named “It’s Raining Cats Dogs And Pollywogs,” sold out on its first run on Amazon over the holidays. How exciting is that?! I wanted to make this adorable penguin the center of attention on my card, so I made a CAS card. (Or maybe I should say, this is a CAS card for me as I usually layer, add embellies, later some more, etc. etc!)
