Fun Traditions

It’s Friday, so time for another challenge at QKR Stampede!  Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? My DT card features an adorable digi from QKR named Tooth Fairy and a sentiment from Eureka Stamps. The wonderful background paper is upcycled an old Christmas card. I wanted to make it look like the fairy was holding the dollar, so I printed an extra copy of the fairy’s face, collar, arms, and hands, colored and fussy-cut it then attached to the card front with foam tape. It took a few attempts, but I was able to fold the dollar to the right size. I then tied it with a scrap of ribbon, slipped it beneath her right hand, and attached it with a bit of double-sided tape.  I’m entering this card into several challenges including one of my favorites, the Butterfly Challenge. I was thrilled to see that this month the challenge  doesn’t require a butterfly on our cards, but instead we are to feature Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies, Elves and Imps. So fun!

Friday also means that I get to share DT cards for the Colour Crazy Challenge. This challenge is also “Anything Goes” but if adds requirement- the creation needs to include coloring in “any colouring medium you like, onto any project you like, and in any colours you like.” I’ve never outgrown my love for coloring… which is why I so love making cards! The challenges last for 2 weeks but four DT teams take turns posting weekly inspiration every Friday. Join us and you might win prizes from our challenge sponsors!
Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and my card features a digi named “Christmas Rocking Horse.”  To create  a Christmas ornament, I sandwiched the Rocking Horse between circles of vellum and acetate, attaching both with a bit of snail adhesive.  A scrap of cardboard cut to shape and size then covered with plain ol’ aluminum foil that was scored with a toothpick, topped the ornament.) A small circle of silver paper with the center punched out was taped to the back of the ornament topper and threaded with a thin red ribbon. Patterned paper, a bit of ribbon and silver photo corners finish this fun card.

Am entering this card into a few challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Challenge-TicTacToe  focusing on the Diagonal  from the upper left to lower right (snowflake white on white pattern looks a bit like the white lace, bit of greener in center square,  color of the birds and parchment paper similar to the fabric) and Di’s Digi Stamps (the birds are holding the banner… like a human would do!)
