Fall Trio

Hello! It’s the third Thursday of the month, so time for a new challenge at Imagine That Digi Stamps. For my DT card used an Imagine That set named Autumn.  I love this sweet little squirrel from this set and felt that he needed to have center stage in all his cute fuzziness! So... I printed him on Kraft paper, added some shading with Tombow markers and highlights with a white colored pencil, and perched him on a sentiment from the set.  The leaves are upcycled from an old card  and the Autumn Subway background is a freebie from LoveSVG.(You can find it HERE.)
The inside sentiment digi is a freebie  from DDDoodles (you can find it HERE),
One added note- The designer/owner of Imagine That, Kris Breach, provides her DTs with a coupon code that allows any friends a discount on their next digi order. If you stop by the shop I know that you'll find lots of digis you'll want to add to your collection. Then, make sure to enter your card into this months challenge with an "Anything Goes" theme for a chance to win a $12 coupon to the Imagine That Digistamp shop, or a Top 3 award which includes 2 free digi sets of your choice and an invite to be our Guest Designer in the next challenge!  You can find the full rules HERE.
I'm entering this card into several challenges including The Sisterhood of Crafters- Trees, Trees and More Trees (am hoping that leaves fit into that category. They are my favorite part of trees!) and  Sheepski Designs- #33 Your Favorite Things (once again, leaves are one of my favorite things... especially beautiful fall leaves. We have lots of them here in Wisconsin every year. I love it!)

I once heard of a fun challenge where you made a card only with items you could find on your craft desk. Today, when trying to organize the major mess that I call my craft desk (and my husband refers to a scary!) I decided to take that challenge. Within a few minutes I had discovered a set of scrapbook alphabet tiles, a scrap of sheer ribbon, a gold charm and a card front that I’d made back in 1999!  (I remember the year because it was when a friend and I had first opened a stamp store in South Dakota. We’d purchased some gold string spray. We liked the idea better than the actual item! It was super messy. So we created a few dozen different card fronts, lay them in the bottom of a large box, and sprayed them lavishly.)  I was saving this one for something special.  And I think this card qualifies as I like the way it turned out. What do you think?

My final card for this post was made for the Snippets Challenge and the Outlawz Saturday Challenge named “Favorite Things.” Patterned paper is one of my favorite things… plus when I find an unusual paper I try to use every little piece... or every snippet! When organizing my desk, I also found small packets of different colored embossing powders that I’d purchased at a craft sale many years ago. I mixed together a half teaspoon of a few of the colors that were in the papers- yellow, black and bronze. I stamped a vintage wood mount Embossing Arts sentiment with black pigment ink onto a scrap of black paper, poured on the embossing powder mixture, shook off the excess and watched the colors emerge as I heated it. So fun to create a card with snippets of paper AND snippets of EP! I'm entering this card into two other challenges, one focuses on patterned paper, the other asks us to used a hoarded supply. My biggest hoard is… you guessed it… patterned paper!
