I’m realizing that my posts are often pretty long… unlike
many other bloggers. (I just mentioned that to my hubby and he laughed…loudly!
Noting that I’m “vocabularious” in word and in speech. I know that he made that
word up!!) So, I’m going to try to shorten my posts… but still provide
important resource details, which will also be easier to find as I'll list them at the end of the post. Let me know what you think!
Love this vintage silhouette... and love that its a freebie! I didn't sponge the edges, it comes that way. I did highlight the snowflakes and packages/envelopes on the tree with a white gel pen. Am entering this card into several challenges: Incy Wincy
Designs (used blue, burgundy and purple with lots of bling), Do-Al[l] Creative (love the vintage
tree image), and two Outlawz challenges (ribbon slider and rockin’ round the
tree. There might even be singing around that tree… or at least a bit of whining? “Mom, can we
open one now? Just one? Pleeeease!”)

I won three digis from Sheepski Designs a few
months ago and just had to have this wonderful digi of a very grumpy cat named “Mindy.”
The Beccy’s Place sentiments used in the card above are the perfect fit for
this feisty feline, too. So fun! (Note, the ornament is actually really sparkly
as I added a layer of clear holographic sticker paper after coloring it green.
The photos don’t do it justice… but I did take a few closeups to show that
there is some fun sparkle action going on!) I used a few scraps of the red striped paper from the front of the card to create peppermint sticks inside of the card. A little rounding of the edges, shading and highlighting made them look pretty yummy!
Am entering this into several challenges: Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge (Middle row of the TicTacToe
board 1)the yellow-orange center of daisy is similar to the color of the cat, 2) bit of
greenery in the middle photo, 3) Walt Disney quote mentions laughter. The humor in
this card is sure to cause at least a few giggles or possibly even guffaws from
my sister who will be the lucky recipient!), Simon Says Monday and Sheepski
Designs (Sparkly things are my favorite), Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (was
fun to use traditional Christmas Colors.)

Love the vintage silhouette you used on your first card. Thank you for sharing your creation with us @ Incy Wincy Designs Christmas Without Red or Green Challenge. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Kathy, the first card, trimming the tree brings back many fond childhood memories, very pretty....hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteI think it's perfectly okay to be "vocabularious" Kathy... although I think "vocabulicious" describes you better. It's obvious that you love what you do and it comes across in your writing and descriptions.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are fabulous! I absolutely love the image you used on the first one, it makes me think of my three children when they were little... lovely memories. Love the vintage vibe of the card.
The second card you made is so fun! I'm sure whoever receives it will get a chuckle from all the wording you added. Grumpy Goose is sounding more like Grinchy Goose! I really like the fold you designed for this card... something is revealed with each opening.
That cat on your last card certainly looks like he's sulking! I wonder if he is in trouble for playing around the the baubles and other decorations? I love the sparkle from the holographic sticker paper and the gold bow. Fabulous!
Cheers,
Beccy
